I noticed that there're no discussion portal for this to cater to the problems of win10 running FF14 .

29th is the deadline for ms to plug for users upgrading from win7/8 to win10. For win8 users, you might be safe from suffering from lack of support for new software. It seems Microsoft is taking measures to monopolize the software industry by discontinuing support for win7 and below.

Here, ill start a dicussion on various problem about getting ready for win10 before getting flushed out by Microsoft legacy os support.

If you are more comfortable with win7. You can anytime check back to discuss win10 issues.

Update issue.

I could not find any solution at the moment now.
Patches are dumped into my documents which is protected and on read only mode. You can anytime create anything on it.
However, FF14 client does not resume downloads in win10 if your client crashed.

I had to "surgically" implant contents from my win7 game folder. Patch totals up to 25k mb. Like 25gb. A 4mb screamyx plan takes 1470mins to finish download

u shud upgrade first, so later u win 7 key become win 10 key

after that just revert to win 7 back

so, in the future, u wont have to buy win 10 key.

i dont have that problem even when i changed into ssd.

the os and all software works fine (ff14 included). i usind EaseUS software

Have you tried to update from scratch or you just copy the whole folder over from your previous ff14.

If you have been using ff14 on your win10 since day 1, there should not be any problems with the update part.
Since you don't need a huge chunk of update. But as for those running on a 25gb update with a 4mb connection, it'll be an entirely story.We're are talking about resumability of unfinish download. You got disconnected from 20% download, it'll resume from there. I've checked on my win10, that's not possible.

I'm on a clean install win10 pro downloaded straight legit from ms server.

i upgraded win10 since technical preview didnt have any of your issues
are you upgrade with your account type administrator?

Edit: sorry i was upgraded from 8.1. either way i should have similar issue when upgrading from win7 to win8

I find it wierd.. Noone seems to complain on this so far. Maybe because of the huge update, everyone simply backup the whole game folder from another pc and migrated it to their new os directly.
Or, the guys who updated their ff14 from scratch using new installation disc of ARR + heavensward till the latest is on a 1gb/100mb plan. That way, 25gb update is nothing to them. It probably takes only less than 2 hrs to finish the download.
