Hey guys,
first time writing a cheque.
I notice a "atau pembawa/or bearer" sentence in the cheque.
May I know what this means? Is it safer if I strike out that sentence ?
Maybank Cheque Question, or bearer can strike out?

no need.....this is bit historical....
now, all cheque, on top left hand corner, sure got printed "a/c payee only" which mean the person name in the payee on can cash out the cheque last time, no "a/c payee only", either you need to write yourself or chop. If don't write/ chop, and not cross out, whoever get hold the cheque can cash out. Example, the cheque payee is Ali and not cross out, but, Muthu found it, so, Muthu go bank it in his account. Muthu will still received the money. Now, cannot jor due to account payee only, regardless whether need to cross out or not. This post has been edited by 2feidei: Jun 21 2016, 02:56 PM |

No. The cheque will only bounce when amount and digit different, payee different, signature different, etc.
That one also depends how sharp the bank officer pick it up. Now all cheque cleared electronically. |
