QUOTE(isr25 @ Jun 23 2016, 07:55 AM) Can the current Civic X owners confirm with me one thing: does the car have auto wipers? I'm asking coz the Thailand & Indonesia version has it. The carbase.my site comparison chart listed it as well. But no other site confirmed it. My SA also unsure coz the official spec list doesn't list it. Thanks in advance. I can confirm to you that auto wipers is completely absent in the Civic X for Malaysian market. I've scoured the entire interior with scrutiny and it isn't there. Not even in the TC-P. Sometimes I wonder about what HM said about "meeting high expectations" for Malaysian buyers. The folks over in Thailand have goodies like 4-way powered passenger seat, auto wipers, LaneWatch. The car might possibly will even have Sensing in the near future in Thailand. Yes, they don't have rear air-cond vents, and their glove boxes fall with gravity while ours are dampened. But still, it feels like a hit and miss for the Malaysian Civic X. |

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jun 23 2016, 09:04 AM) Ok, thanks. Anyway, if Honda Malaysia ever brings in Sensing, I would get it. In the US, Honda Sensing is an option for all models - so I guess they are able to retrofit it into our cars in the future. But I doubt they'll ever bring it in this time round. Probably during the facelift 2/3 years down the road. I certainly hope so. HM should consider include Sensing as an option here, too. Because I believe that buyers nowadays are more and more becoming advocates for car safety. But still, I'm not too sure about retrofitting though. Sensing consists of a myriad of sensors and a radar, so that's the hardware. And then they'll have to wire them together and link to the system and lastly, the buttons on the steering wheel have to be replaced completely because the Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control switches are all on the steering wheel, and what we have currently is just... Empty buttons. Might as well have the entire wheel replaced. |

QUOTE(Alternation @ Jun 26 2016, 01:06 PM) Bro, I've encountered it too. But now before pressing and holding the remote start button, I press lock button 1st. Yeah I think the actual proper way to use it is to first press the lock button on the remote, even if your car is already locked. Then only press the remote start. It's always the case with other makes; lock first then remote start. |

A quick question for the 1.8 owners...
What's the RPM when cruising at 110kph? The turbo is 1.8k, according to the owners, but would like to know about the 1.8L. |

QUOTE(Alternation @ Jul 3 2016, 11:34 PM) The civic is making me feels like a celebrity in sg. Getting so many admiring stares. Guys from VEP even took time to check it up. They mentioned sg likely won't be getting the turbo. Yeah if I'm not mistaken they're getting a 1.6NA, which is unique to them.Did 165kph briefly when tailgated by fd2 at 130. The acceleration is so smooth, no drama at all. Rpm was about 3.5k - 3.8k only. Going for 1k service tomorrow. They do get rear folding seats though. QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 4 2016, 03:26 AM) If they were getting the turbo it is most likely going to be a detuned one, no thanks to their COE and vehicle tax regulations; BHP and torque are looked into when it comes to taxing cars in Singapore. However, the equipment they will have is lackluster. 2 frontal airbags only, no engine remote start, no mention of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, manual seats on both sides. We are fortunate. |

QUOTE(lordwood @ Jul 4 2016, 09:13 AM) But unfortunately we don't get the most important safety feature as an option, and that is Honda Sensing package. Wonder why HM left it out as an option? My guess is that as long as Thailand hasn't had it, we won't have it. That's for sure. But that's all about to change, as Thailand is about to debut the Accord Hybrid, complete with Sensing. Even so, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see HM bring Sensing to Malaysia much later. And then even so, HM might only include it in the Accord. Do watch this awesome Honda Sensing system video: 2016 Honda Civic - Honda Sensing Package Think about it, the current Accord 2.4 in Malaysia has LaneWatch. They could have included it in the Civic X but nope they didn't. So presumably it's going to be the same with Sensing by the time it comes to our shores. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jul 4 2016, 09:25 AM) Because very few Malaysians would have opted for it. You would be surprised that, given a choice, many Malaysians still opt for cheaper variants that doesn't come with Electronic Stability Control and less airbags just because its cheaper. I totally second this. Malaysians generally are very much uneducated about active and passive safety features in cars. All of which results in an unfortunate consequence for us motoring enthusiasts; to not being able to enjoy these safety features in our cars. And to retrofit just a few cars on the assembly line with an additional package, doesn't make economic sense from the production perspective. And for me, all these safety features are good but it will come to nothing if we still cannot practice basic safety like wearing rear seatbelts. Im quite certain at least 50% of the forumers on LYN do not bother to wear rear seatbelts and also do not ensure their passengers wear them. I make it a point to look at other cars on my daily commute to/fro work and I would say 90% with rear passengers are not buckled in. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jul 4 2016, 09:58 AM) thai does have lanewatch EXACTLY. UMW is just ripping Malaysians off with medieval cars. Yet people are still buying them, with the sole justification of having high RV. Seriously, the current Vios still has a 4-speed auto box, and people would have to pay an extra few thousand to get 7 airbags for the Corolla Altis, on top of the already-expensive full spec variant. but as usual, malaysia always get ripped off for the features. toyota is a very good example Like what I said, Malaysians are generally uneducated about cars. |
