still undecided to go for AX-100 or Optoma HD70. Sony VPL-AW15 aint up to my expectation. At that price, I would rather opt for Optoma.

I am a bit worried abt Panny issues. Or am I worrying too much?
*
since u also selling Optoma, Why not get hd70. If I'm travel to US now, sure I'll pickup the Hd70... USD $949 damm cheap now.

Btw. anyone bought any electronic stuff from amazon b4?

Bro, I find the AX-100 PQ is better but the problem that you guys mentioned made me to think twice. I cant understand why the big difference in price. If I do buy HD70, I will ask my bro-in-law to bring it from US. Just wondering will it be taxed. Or put into a lappy bag  brows.gif
*
no worry sure no tax is hand carry and if they ask just tell them it's for ofiice/business use. I did carried my office projector for business trip in oveasea and so far, they don't bother to ask. biggrin.gif

To me, HD projector no hurry, unless I can get the HD70 for $749 USD, bcos I still have my cheapo and good PB6001 prj mah. brows.gif brows.gif frankly speaking I need to wait for uncle "HO" supply HD material 1st leh else no go.

Hi, I m confuse now. I m interesting to buy a projector but we are now in transition from normal projector(or HD ready, but not sure what does it mean) to HD projector. But the HD projector still expensive but I guess would drop next year. Is it worst to wait or just get the normal one now in the market? Once everything in HD, are the projector still can be use in HD mode?
*
HD projector with (720P, 1080P) still expensive here. u may try those normal HT projector from brand like infocus, BenQ, Optoma and cost below 4K, there are good enough for normal DVD movies.

just FYI, they worked perfect if the screen projection less than 85" diagonal length (X) and viewing distance ard 1.9X-2.3X.

<Once everything in HD, are the projector still can be use in HD mode?>
Sure OK.

Thanks jason! Actually I've seen the HD70 at the AV Show. Passable black levels to me. Already accounted for the fixed offset this projector has. Thank god IKEA has this customisable shelf that's perfect for projector mounting. Planning to mount it on the bottom of shelf to accomodate the offset.

Lucky for me also, can't see the RB's on this 4x color wheel. Hopefully I haven't left out else? BTW who has a HD70 here? Opinions are most welcomed.  thumbup.gif

welcome to big screen. RM4500 for Optoma HD70 is a good buy indeed.

I've decided to go for Sony Bravia AW-15 projector. Anyone here using this projector ? Mind share your experience.

And, also planning to upgrade my amp to Marantz SR-4001 or Pioneer VSX-LX50 (if got extra money).

42"plasma TV is more flexible, but when it comes to pure enjoyment of movies made for the cinema, the projector wins... no argument.

As for the listed price.... its only a listed price.  If you shop around and ask for discount, you will be surprised how much some dealers are willing to give.  Don't be shy to ask!!!

I'm going to US for business only just b4 Xmas and don't have much time for shopping, I've shortlisted my prj choice simple they are available at Circuit City or Best Buy which near by our office. I prefer brighter and high black prj like my cheapo 6100, therefore pana AX200 still my top choice , but a bit concern on the flickering problem that mentioned in AVSForum and mist HT1500 is my 2nd pick.

yah, 1100 lums definitely needs darker room to get sharper picture. anyway Rm1500 for new XGA pjt is a steal.
just back from US on business trip and didn't hv much time to shop ard. Circuit city too far from my work place and
went to best buy store to look see look see. Optoma HD70 (USD$979) is out of stock and Mits HC1500 ($999) left only show unit and SA said they don't have Pan AX200 and Sanyo Z4 or Z5.. sad.gif
