Hi guys. I need some advice. I want to buy a bluray player but I'm not sure which brand should I get. Reasonable price and can play dvd for all region. Thank you in advance

I've stop using bluray player for some time. Have the tech become more reliable nowadays?
I previously have 3 bluray players died on me, each around 2 years life span. 

I believe Ultra Blu Ray will take over the Blu Ray format and it will continue to be around until unless we can stream 4K HDR with HD Audio formats e.g. Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. HT enthusiasts will continue to support this new format for the time being. Of course, downloading is an option which will negate the need for a physical disc. My 2 sen. 

4K HDR will be very common in future.

but the physical disc cycle would continue. from cassette to current disc.
maybe in future thumb drive as a disc replacement.

As long as they actually "sell you the content", it's okay.

Nowadays the greedy businesses are moving towards "selling you the service", like in digital games consumer are buying the services, one day the game server can be shut down and the consumer will not be able to consume what they thought they have bought and owned. Nowadays songs are also sold as a service thru the like of Spotify if I'm not mistaken.

Is your 4k player region free? Since UK titles are usually region locked for the standard 1080p Blu-ray (Though i know the 4k version is region free)

Yep, the 4k ones are not locked, but the extra Blu-ray edition is region free? Amazon UK shows them as B though

Really? I'm interested in a few BBC Documentaries however Amazon UK listed them as Region B for the Blu Ray extras.

Yamaha YAS-207 and Sony CT800 lol.
I got the YAS after comparing both in HN in terms of sound only, but if feature/convenience wise is important to you then CT800.
There are few others from LG and Samsung, but I didn’t get to test those.

Really like the JP Limited Edition. Quality of the book cover is quite nice with certain prints are embossed.
Like the artwork pages with some details as well with the total of 8 Discs (4 UHD, 4 Standard BR). Each Discs has their own artwork page.

Yep, was deciding on the steel book limited edition version or this, chose this in the end just because of all the artwork in each page. Makes it more special IMO.
Wished this came with UHD + 3D BR instead of the standard 2D. Wouldn't mind paying more for that option 

I don't think it'll face out anytime soon since some films do excel with 3D, e.g. Jurassic Park, some documentaries. But 3D only looks great with projectors where the display is much bigger and you can feel the full effect. So yes it is a very small and limited market, but there still are enthusiast around. UHD will still definitely have higher sales for sure.

Who knows, with how tech is progressing, we might not need glasses for 3D in the future. They could incorporate a thin layer on the TV panel that only activates when 3D content is being played
