I was at 1U last weekend to get my hands on some 4K Blurays I missed out throughout 2019 and during the MCO. Disappointingly there wasn't anything too new. The more recent titles I got was only Terminator Dark Fate and Spider-Man Far From Home. Those were full price when I went there. Of course that was before the Speedy closure announcement on Monday. They also had a buy 2 for RM199 deal for select titles. I got Mission Impossible Fallout, Deadpool 2, Detective Pikachu, Toy Story 4, Shazam, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Lego Movie 2, and Ant-Man 2.
I also checked the Subang Parade branch, but they didn't have the RM199 deal for 4K Blurays. And there's no further discount on 4K Blurays too. They did have some unwanted Blurays selling for RM35 for 7 or something. I was hoping to find John Wick 3 or something more recent. But I guess they already stopped bringing in new movies for a while now.
actually i was kind of half-hearted to go to speedy even though with the sales because i already knew what they're selling... mostly not in my list. well; unless if the price go down really dirt cheap then probably i will be interested. but if based on the price range offered, they're not really that cheap... at least not to my price requirement threshold for me to buy. understandably, they also have no intentions of bringing in latest titles since they're closing down for sure...I also checked the Subang Parade branch, but they didn't have the RM199 deal for 4K Blurays. btw thanks for sharing your insights and experience going to both outlets
