I was at 1U last weekend to get my hands on some 4K Blurays I missed out throughout 2019 and during the MCO. Disappointingly there wasn't anything too new. The more recent titles I got was only Terminator Dark Fate and Spider-Man Far From Home. Those were full price when I went there. Of course that was before the Speedy closure announcement on Monday. They also had a buy 2 for RM199 deal for select titles. I got Mission Impossible Fallout, Deadpool 2, Detective Pikachu, Toy Story 4, Shazam, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Lego Movie 2, and Ant-Man 2.

I also checked the Subang Parade branch, but they didn't have the RM199 deal for 4K Blurays. And there's no further discount on 4K Blurays too. They did have some unwanted Blurays selling for RM35 for 7 or something. I was hoping to find John Wick 3 or something more recent. But I guess they already stopped bringing in new movies for a while now.

Dreamworks 3D titles are usually 2 in 1. The 3D disc also contains the 2D version. If you play it on a non 3D TV it will play the 2D version. I happen to have quite a few of them.

RM199 for 2 4K UHDs are still expensive compared to imports

I manage to grab some but it's RM 10 per title one.
All 3D Blu-ray + Blu-ray.

I ask the shop, they told me open until August,  2020 only.
So grab while you can.

If the disc only 1 single disc and label 3D only, then that copy don't have 2D version.
They do have such version selling in speedy, so need to be very careful as 3D version need 3D player + 3D TV, else it won't play.

2 disc version will have proper label Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray.

I'm aware of the titles with 2D+3D discs in the package of course. I own a ton of 3D movies. The majority of 3D titles do have separate 2D and 3D discs. You can't play the 3D version on a non 3D TV as you said.

But there ARE certain titles that actually contain the 2D and 3D versions on one disc. Most of them are from Dreamworks. And some are from Fox. These are the titles I personally own, which I bought from Speedy a long time ago.

All the Shrek movies should be the same, although I don't own Shrek 1-3 on 3D. But the majority of other 3D titles can't play on non 3D TVs though. Anything from Sony or Disney. Anything from Paramount. Same with Universal.

Again, in most of the titles, if it comes with the 3D disc only, then it can't be played on non 3D TVs. Very specifically, only some of these can be played on non 3D TVs. I personally have these titles below, which I just tested again on my non 3D TV yesterday. I assure you it will work. When you insert it into the Bluray player, you will be asked which version do you want to play. Of course if you select the 3D version you will still get the usual "can't be played on this TV" message. All of them were bought from Speedy.

I don't have Shrek 1 - 3 on Bluray 3D yet. I can take it off your friend if he doesn't want them.

I ended up buying 2 from Speedy while waiting for the slow shipment from US.
Bought Solo: A Star Wars Story and the 20th Anniversary version Saving Private Ryan. Although Solo is among the worse native 4K compared to the rest of the franchise I got it since I’m a SW fan anyway.
Saving Private Ryan’s remastering and especially Atmos mixing is a great step up from the older DTS version.

I believe he means Solo: A Star Wars Story having the worst in 4K for the entire Star Wars. I agreed with that, Solo is pretty bad transfer compare with others. Also Solo color themes is out from the rest, doesn't match at all with the rest.

I can't remember which shipping option i chose, it was in between the standard and the most exp one. Standard takes too long, from at least 3 weeks to 1 month+. And shipping price is more expensive now too 

Regarding Solo, the technical factors. Although the story itself wasn't that great either lol
