QUOTE(aska123 @ Dec 21 2021, 04:18 PM) Hi Guys, Currently, i have a RM 1 Yes Sim Card and have been using it for 2-3 months. Now i wish to MNP my Digi line to yes through Yes App, is this process will replace my Digi number with the existing yes sim card? or i will receive a new yes sim card? You may use your current Yes sim card. This post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 22 2021, 09:13 AM

QUOTE(mlamlam @ Jan 14 2022, 12:44 PM) Good to hear that you can Port Out successfully I've experienced the port out process this weekend and it was quite traumatic, but in the end completed within the standard 20-21 hours time period. The difference seems to be that real telcos send the confirmation sms immediately once the porting request is submitted. YES on the other hand only send the sms towards the end of that period, leaving us totally in the dark or, like me resorting to phone calls, emails and tickets to find out the status. I was given one hour to respond to their confirmation sms, luckily I wasn't sleeping or watching a movie in a telco blackhole at the time. This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 16 2022, 09:29 PM

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Jan 17 2022, 07:37 PM) wow, I never knew this.. thanks and after scrolling their Terms & Conditions endlessly, I found this hilarious definition of "Grace Period” means the period of 50 days, or such other period prescribed by Us, from the expiry of the relevant Account Validity Period. in other words 50 days or any other number of days (or hours, minutes or seconds) of YES choosing This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 17 2022, 08:35 PM

QUOTE(aska123 @ Jan 19 2022, 06:17 PM) The funny thing is I did not receive any SMS or send any SMS for the past 1 month. So means it just suddenly send out without my knowledge. I also dunno if i send STOP is effective or not lol Understand bro We all kena these charges time to time It could be many causes, such as verification sms, rogue app or subscription Is it a new number or you are using long time? Sometimes recycled prepaid numbers inherit sms subscriptions from the previous owner, that's why STOP ALL is worth a try This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 19 2022, 06:57 PM

QUOTE(kit2 @ Feb 20 2022, 02:24 PM) anyone managed to port out from YES smoothly? if yes, please share your experience it can be done, here's my tips 1 make sure the new telco correctly identifies Yes as your current telco when they submit the porting request. for example, maxis system lists Yes under YTL. 2 don't expect immediate confirmation sms, Yes send it much later. recommended to email Yes CS straight after request submitted to confirm they received. 3 keep your phone on and connected to Yes, the confirmation sms not only comes late but has short interval to reply, in my case 1 hour. so you have to babysit your phone.

5G NSA mode requires simultaneous connection to 4G network of the MNO and 5G network of DNB.
So, I sense the problem with having Yes as the current 5G flag bearer is more on Yes limited 4G coverage.
The other telcos are more concerned on the money side as they prefer to be landlord rather than tenant of the 5G network.

QUOTE(cheesyman @ Mar 4 2022, 09:11 PM) Have 2 yes lines, ported out 1 today. New telco submitted request yesterday morning but I only received the SMS today at 12:57 p.m and give me an hour to reply. Lucky I was having lunch and near to my phone. Once confirmed, the line was disconnected at 1:21 p.m. Swiped my $26 credit also. I wonder if there is a regulation that telco needs to refund the remaining credits to subscribers? your experience similar to mine, got one hour to reply nope, any credit remaining will be forfeited, that's normal

The overall timeframe from submitting the request to successful mnp is typically 20~21 hours.
The difference is normal telco send the confirmation sms instantly and you then wait those 20-odd hours for porting to happen.
Yes, on the other hand, keeps you waiting 20 hours and gives you one hour to reply the sms, after which porting will happen within an hour.
When I ported out of Yes last January, luckily I was in a quiet place with decent signal when the sms came in so I could reply right away.
Easy to imagine doing the request at mall opening time, then getting sms from Yes 6am the next day while still sleeping. Timing is everything since you need to be awake, alert, paying attention to your hp and have a good Yes signal. That's a lot to ask.
