Still using Yes 4G/5G because of consistent speed all day long and people nearby probably didn't hear of this telco before so no speed congestion at night unlike the other big 4 telcos

QUOTE(luqman98x @ Oct 5 2023, 03:31 PM) Just noticed that Yes put LTE B28 into lowest priority (below B20/38/40/41) if the phone is locked to LTE only instead of 5G/LTE... which means the phone won't connect to LTE B28 unless if in areas where Yes own signal is weak but DNB's B28 signal is strong. This is true, 5G tower 500 metres away but always connect to school tower 900 metres away B20, unless i toggle 5G auto. This could be why those LTE only modem users with Yes SIMs reports weird behaviour lately after locking to LTE B28 |

QUOTE(Piers @ Oct 5 2023, 11:04 PM) If 5G is basically everywhere you go then you can consider, but for me some places i go does not have 5G and weak 4G connection, especially in shopping malls, means you might have some problems with phone online/QR payments. |

Nowadays already few times 4G line still have (connected to school tower Band 20) but no data transmission, toggle airplane mode also useless, need wait few mins then data back online.
Also realised if Yes 4G line in my area got sudden problem become no signal and 5G coverage is available, switching to 5G auto also wont connect to 5G, still no signal. Other telco (also using unifi bebas prepaid) connect to 5G at the same time no problem, got line. I wonder if connecting to 5G still need handshake with Yes within an area/district. |

QUOTE(dh13 @ Oct 7 2023, 09:55 PM) Any one brought devices from Yes 5G (Tied with Contract) ? Wanna know whether they do Telco Lock (only can use Yes5G Sim card) or we can use the device with other telco's SIM card. As long as paying the bill on time. I do once experience telco lock from Hotlink Postpaid's phone. You can only use Maxis/Hotlink on sim 1, sim 2 you can use any sim since both sim slot's IMEI is different. Not sure about Yes's contract phone tho.Coz i am planning for sign up Rahmah 5G package...but I am intent to use the plan on another phone... dh13 liked this post

Maybe city centre they only put few 4G towers only, unlike other telcos 1 tower every km away.
Checked cellmapper with Yes 4G tower in Kuching Sarawak, only found like 5 or 6 4G(Band 20/40) towers only. Thats why sometimes weak 4G signal indoors. |

QUOTE(bitterswt @ Nov 5 2023, 03:07 PM) 1. How do I reload this YES sim card? Can it be top up like Maxis by going to just any 7-11 & buy a top up ticket? I understand I can also reload via Shopee or normal bank FPX transfer(I don't have a credit card btw). What is the cheapest option to top up, preferably with discount & without any transfer fee incurred. 1. Cheapest would be via shopee.2. For the unlimited FT5G rm30 plan, I read here or heard that the cheapest reload/renew is rm25(rm5 discount). How do I activate this or it's auto renewal? I just download the YES app & I didn't see this option. My current YES account is currently rm0, no balance. ![]() Not sure if 7-11 or KK Mart do sell Yes reloads but you can try as an alternative method to reload. 2. You need a credit/debit card for the rm5 auto renew discount, since you said that you don't have a credit card. You can activate this under Add-Ons, choose the data plan with a "%" mark beside, tap "See All" beside the "Payment Type". ![]() bitterswt liked this post

QUOTE(bitterswt @ Nov 6 2023, 02:20 AM) So, I can't get the rm5 discount(rm25 from rm30), if I don't have a credit card? What if for example, I reload rm30(rm29) via Shopee, can I still get the rm5 discount? If I reload via Shopee, how long does it take before it's reflected in YES app? Discount only if you use credit/debit card, since this method will bypass your stored credit and directly charge/deduct from your bank upon data plan renew. Reload via shopee normally takes up to 2-3 mins upon payment. Also, the expiry date in YES app says 3 January. Does this mean by 12am(00:00) 4 January it deactivate? What is the best timing to renew the plan? Thanks again for your help. Yes, 4 January totally can't use data/calls. No need to worry about the best timing to renew since reloading RM30 gives you 60 days of credit validity. (In this case minimum reload RM15 for 30 days credit validity.) bitterswt liked this post
