QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Jan 15 2007, 11:19 AM) but mal dun have gps service lol Who says we don't? Have been using it for almost a year now. QUOTE(jjsia @ Jan 15 2007, 05:52 PM) yeap. totally agree. it lacks touch screen. GPS is very useful when u r driving at night. It's equally useful while navigating with it in the daytime. QUOTE(speedguy10 @ Jan 15 2007, 06:12 PM) If apply GPS service, according to my friend fyp project, it is available in My, but it require month charge. You don't have to apply for the service, just buy the hardware, and also have the appropriate softwares (maps) and you're all set to use GPS to navigate your way around town!

QUOTE(bansai @ Jan 27 2007, 04:43 AM) there is a monthly charge to use the additional GPS functions.. maps are free.. location pinpointing is free.. directional guidance is currently the only feature that i know of that we must pay to use.. I've never heard of paying monthly charges for using GPS. It's FREE and the only thing you pay is for the maps, which can be quite expensive and each updates requires some funds to be paid to the developer, and also the GPS hardware. That's all. No monthly charges whatsover.

QUOTE(bansai @ Jan 28 2007, 03:57 AM) from the gps menu there is a menu option called additional services or something like that, that requires a connection to the server that requires your registration and its not free.. maps from what was announced is free and preloaded with the country the phone was intended for, if the map is not present then it will be downloaded to the memory card... Using GPS to pinpoint your location is free of course.. "If you want turn-by-turn voice instructions, you'll have to pay up for premium service, otherwise basic route planning and street addresses are free." quoted from Gizmodo.. "Automatic turn by turn voice instructions are a premium service that can be upgraded to from the handset (other premium services include city guides), but basic route planning and tracking (i.e. manually stepping through the route) are free." Quoted from AAS it was already confirmed by nokia quite sometime back during the n series event in new york if my memory serves me right.. I've been using turn by turn voice navigation ever since I started using GPS, and it's free! And yeah I was referring to using GPS on a general basis, not specifically related to N95. I believe in the N95, you can source for maps which are free rather than having to pay a premium just for voice navigation, which is already a norm for GPS users. Thanks youngkies for the clarification. This post has been edited by sonyclie77: Jan 28 2007, 12:33 PM

QUOTE(unknowndevices @ Jan 28 2007, 10:39 PM) using it almost a year... how's the map going...really helped you a lot? Definitely helps a lot. I can't imagine living without it. I travel a lot to new places in my job, so instead of relying on a map, I have been relying on GPS a lot these days.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 3 2007, 02:56 AM) PSP GPS unit, albeit a crappy one. This one's a step towards becoming a little bit serious. But if you have to ask, im using the GNSS/GPS at work all the time, getting the ANP within RNP, does that count? PSP GPS. How well does it work compared to the likes of Dopod's P100/P800w? Now I recall that you use GPS at work all the time. Must be very exciting eh?

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 3 2007, 08:27 PM) Anything that comes from work is boring, when it comes to geocaching as a hobby, that's fun and interesting. Moral of the story, work is boring. Pictures from i-symbian shows roadmaps for KL areas. Asri has a working unit of the N95? Hmm... Must pay him a visit one of these days. Yeah sometimes I agree with you, anything that comes from work, is, how should I put it, not so exciting.

QUOTE(tr4657 @ Feb 8 2007, 10:41 PM) yeah, just imagine 3 phones ringing at the same time... LOL You still can only answer one at the time. I had it happen once, and I had to let the other 2 ring until they reached the voicemail stage.
