QUOTE(Vanquish @ Jan 15 2007, 01:51 AM) I'm driving a 1995 B14 Sentra, got it used in 2000. Still running fine as I take very good care of the engine... Spent a LOT of money fixing up tons of old problems left over by an ignorant previous owner... Performance is still good except that the fuel consumption has gone up over the years... 40 litres of fuel can only give me 360km max (conservative driving)... hmm.. so nothing can be done to improve it's FC? Part upgrade or part change perhaps?

QUOTE(Vanquish @ Jan 15 2007, 10:56 AM) I've tried... Changed sparkplugs to Denso Iridiums, Ultra plug cables (completely useless), Silver's E-Power voltage stabilizer (this is good), GC E68 Twin Power Intake System (was giving good FC in the beginning, now it's just crap)... Other than that, I just started using one of the best performance oil lubricant available in the market, MOTUL... Can feel improvements in power and torque, engine runs a lot quieter too... But MOTUL is damn expensive... RM70+ for a 4-litre mineral grade 15W40... GC E68 Twin Power Intake System? What's this? The air intake system? Did you try cleaning the filters? I'm no expert in cars but I've always wondered what causes the FC in cars to change over time. Yea, MOTUL is expensive. I use it for my bike as well, almost RM38 per bottle (1 1/2 litres each time). But counting it as it is, you only change the oil every 5000km right? So, it ain't that bad unless you're changing it every month.

QUOTE(Vanquish @ Jan 16 2007, 10:00 AM) Yeah, it's an air intake system... And yes, I do clean the filters, maybe it's time to clean it again... Yeah, it ain't that bad la as long as MOTUL protects my engine... I'm gonna try out the semi-synth grade in my next oil change... I believe Semi-Synths are much suited for older engine designs. Only the newer ones really benefit from Ful Synth, I think... Well, from reading what people have been saying with regards to the performance of their cars and the type of oil they use. hehe... anyone care to share more with regards to this and your Nissan Sentra?
