That could mean your disc brakes are not smooth or warped, time to skim the brake discs... If it's warped, then time to change to a set of new brake discs... It could also mean that ur wheel alignment is off, check your wheel alignment too...

thanks for the info bro.. i will check it a.s.a.p notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

hello everybody, need some help here. My n16 have a problem which kinda mystery to solve it, just would like to know anyone here faced the same problem like this before?

bought it end 2004, 1.6 SG A/T.

i) while driving sometimes the gear doesn't shift up at all
ii) the gear shift at 7k RPM...crazy..
iii) while driving suddenly the transmission moves to idle position. i.e. something like driving in neutral gear.
iv) it only happens at times not always.

Things that i have done

- flush out the transmission oil, refill back the new fresh ones
- brought to nissan service centre to diagnose (which they claim nothing is wrong) rclxub.gif

Someone can enlighten me up with this problem on how how to solve it.. Thanks in advance icon_rolleyes.gif

Dude, the 2001 Sentra IS the N16, how to compare with another N16?
U need to be more specific here... At what gear did ur autobox refuses to shift up?

Another thing is that, are you sure u didn't switch off the Overdrive by accident?

And how do you know that ur autobox suddenly disengaged into neutral?
*
to be specific from 2nd to 3rd.

i didn't do anything with the O/D

i mean while driving, suddenly the car goes idle, like its moving on the neutral, because the gear refuses to shift up. So what i need to do is have to move the car to the left stop it for a while then start back my journey. It has almost caused me few accidents. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Sounds like ur autobox's control unit is faulty or the control unit's wiring is a bit loose... Have the control unit and its wiring checked...

is it. Thanks man, and how do i do this? How should i acknowledge to the foreman? Is it costly to diagnose this problem icon_rolleyes.gif

I think it's better to take back to TC Service Centre to check, or a mechanic who is experienced with Nissan cars... If the TCSC u originally took it back to can't find the problem, then bring it to another TCSC...

Now, I am just guessing your car's problem, it may not be the autobox control unit that's faulty... But get it checked anyway to make sure that the problem does not come from there...

To check for the problem usually doesn't cost anything...

i think his problem is the gearbox ECU data is faulty... may he should take back reset... or ask TCSC foreman to use computer check up for the problem...

Thanks you guys for the help, will update you'll later on what is the actual problem so that it will be useful reference to other n16 users as well. icon_rolleyes.gif notworthy.gif

peeps, referring to my post, today i brought my n16 to do a complete diagnose in TCEAS (main) Its called ECCS- CONSULT DIAGNOSIS. The result was,

SENSORS OK
ACTUATORS OK
FUNCTION DIAG. OK
COMMUNICATION OK
NOTE OK
OTHERS OK

and this caused me a hefty RM 126.00 inclusive labor charge and a service tax of 5%. sweat.gif This test takes just around 10mins to complete, but when i asked the salesperson why is it so costly after all he's just plugging a device to check it, he told me it is the standard charges rclxub.gif

He did top up my gear oil which is foc and did a test drive.

Thanks god it wasn't the gearbox problem. According to the foreman he said that the problem is most probably cost by one of the external gearbox sensor malfunction. If the problem reoccur again then i need to replace the sensor liao sweat.gif

Solution from his experience he gave me an assurance saying by replacing the sensor should solve the problem. The sensor is located outside of the gearbox and its called EXTERNAL REVOLUTION SENSOR which cost RM 635.00 inclusive etc. charges... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

The problem is, i wonder why its kinda too expensive and do anyone knows where to get this part with a rational price. icon_question.gif icon_rolleyes.gif Thanks peeps notworthy.gif
