I have been using the Fuji F31 FD for the past 3 weeks...its still quite a new gadget for me but one thing that still remains a mystery is the fact that it claims it has a battery life of 580 shots.

Throughout these 3 weeks, i've been testing the camera and snapping lotsa pictures but i don't think that it has reached the 500 shot mark let alone 580 shots before it needs a recharge... The most i got out of it is approximately 200 plus shots before the battery life runs out..... sad.gif

So, im wondering if this is normal or unusual ?....People who owns the F31, please comment...

the 580 shot is CIPA standard (meants is 50% with flash) and usually is also a MAXIMUM .

And I believe u view LCD a lot ,do remember everytime u view LCD ,it will use battery ,and if u put a battery there few days without using ,some of the battery also will lost. smile.gif

sounds like your battery is defective, bring it back for an exchange.

The f 31 doesnt have a view finder, sad.gif so we're stuck with the LCD.
Bring down the brightness to save power consumption.
Refrain from reviewing photos unnecessarily.

now, i manage to snap 400+ with some flash. i will only rechagre the battery when the low batt alarm is out. it takes abt 4hr for a full charge but the 1st charge was longer, 6hrs if im not mistaken. normally, the battery will reach its optimum capacity only after a few recharge. so far i hv no problem.

i guess u zoom in and out alot or u review ur shots many2 times.. i guest that factor also contributes towards ur batt life..
just my opinion..

i always thougth whatever they publish is the MAXIMUM shots allowed, not by CIPA standards,` but with the lowest setttings i.e. no flash, no preview, lowest LCD brightness and burst mode... meaning continuously take all the shots... for it takes up battery life if u leave it on, compose etc.
