IMO, that budget I would get Japan executive car, save back few hundred a month depending on car, reselling value higher too, invest in A6 or CLA45 or A45 next time haha much more fun... Continental maintenance high, heard audi quite problematic compared merc
But if really between those 2, I would go for merc, Looks sportier, easier parking, audi have bad rep to me cause problematic... But pros of the audi would be, cheaper road tax, sedan should be more spacious... Fuel economy would depend on your driving style, the audi maybe under powered, i pro merc so I would prefer their handling.. Test drive both cars then usually you'll get your answer, think you need it as family car? sedan should have more boot space right, for family trips... If all about the same then I would just go for safety features and built-in functions, I enjoy admiring my car interior in jams New mazda 6(take the 2.5 or mazda 3 2.0 haha) very attractive to me haha most attractive of all japan D-segment, about same price but it's a D-segment! Definitely much more spacious and nicer performance. New civic 1.5 Turbo also quite chun but not a fan of honda, remote control start even when you're outside your car, what a way to impress a chick, good fuel efficiency and cheap road tax for its superb performance. QUOTE(jay881209 @ Jun 14 2016, 11:40 PM) Dear bros, The Audi. The Mercedes is always dead last in reviews even against lower class cars.I have a budget to buy one of these 2 cars.. Tell me which will be your choice? Might need some opinion from you, am in dilemma now. Thanks. I have the 140 hp TSI in my Golf, and it's quite an engine. Very quiet, powerful and fun to drive. And if you don't have fun, frugal (if you do though, prepare to pay. And pay. And pay. It drinks like mad at 200+. The Audi IMHO also has a nicer interior, with that display that comes out of the dashboard. The Merc looks like they glued a fat iPad fake into the car. If it were an actual tablet, and could be removed... |

Merc interior is not as nice and feels cheap in places. A3 nicer. But as someone recommended, consider Volvo V40.

I did consider that too as VW currently is doing promotions. Would that car be problematic? Never drive a VW, they said the maintenance is as high as merc / Audi.I have the 140 hp TSI in my Golf, and it's quite an engine. Very quiet, powerful and fun to drive. interior wise audi wins hands down. saw too many review saying the a series plastic feels cheap. yup, i would recommend the V40 too. you cannot go wrong with volvo except it's resale value. but then, those who can afford these cars should not even say "resale value".

Never drive a VW, they said the maintenance is as high as merc / Audi. Mk 7, yes. They changed a couple of things that were problematic with the engine in the Mk 6, so hopefully it's fine now. Haven't had any issues yet, but I haven't had it for long either, so I can't tell. Mine is a manual, so I don't have to worry about DSG.It is a good car, especially if you travel a lot and need something relaxing to drive. It's not the most engaging drive, but ride quality is still fine (for a new car... my old Citroen is much better at taking harsh bumps, despite having a conventional suspension setup with torsion beam at the rear). It can be driven rather effortless, especially the spec I have (sadly not available in Malaysia... mine has the lane assist and adaptive cruise control, all I need to do is change gears.) Technically the Golf and A3 is very similar, so issues that affect one should also affect the other. You can try them all, and see which you like best.............. |

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Jun 18 2016, 06:17 AM) He stated there already, no?Don't get me wrong, i'm just saying it's a common or if not, a model released one or two years back already equipped with the feature. Unfortunately equipped on a un popular model. Just because it is fixed on 2016 HONDA CIVIC, it is a cool feature. |

QUOTE(braindeath @ Jun 18 2016, 04:27 AM) Does that mean the aircon works from battery too? No need to on the engine for the AC to work? That'd be great. My car has a heater that works when the engine is off (super useful). It can be controlled with a remote. I can also operate the fans from a distance, but not the AC |
