For my case, my notice period is only one days.
I was planning to leave the company after I get my salary.
But I not sure wat will happen if I did this way.

Bcoz I just work for the company for less than 60 days so that I will exempt from the tax, IRAS categorized it as Short Term Employment. So the day where I earn my salary, which is 55 days that I work in my current company.
So if more than 60 days, I need to pay 15% of my salary for the tax.

So do you mean even if i got my salary, I need to pay back to my employer to clear the tax right?

Yes...because i get the idea of him saying that SGD1.6k savings per month is not good enough...
SGD5 per meal x 3 a day x 30 days for a month...thats SGD450 for meals...hp another 50 bucks...
public transport 100-150 a month...thats SGD650....still got another 350....misc expenses 100-150 for 1 person per month is more than enough. So i'm saying that he/she could save up even more...to maybe even SGD1.8k++ per month

I did it back then with less than SGD4.....forget about a drink even....yes....so i'm saying depends on how much one would spend on entertainment...
i dont go clubbing nor drinking nor smoking...LOL

hi guys. i'm getting frustrated at getting no favorable response after sending my resumes to so many companies for a post of architect assistant. i've been jobless for almost 7 months now after finishing my degree in january. working in singapore sounds intimidating but the idea seems more and more attractive by the day. i'm gonna read this thread and do my research and hopefully i won't have to become a disappointment to my family any longer soon.

i suppose the labour market is extremely saturated and competitive right now? i'm not picky and willing to work anything but i bet whatever i apply, thousands of people will apply too and it's a scary thought.

If you are not a permanent staff, your job is not highly secured.  I think that is what he meant.

Haha I won't wanna be Internal Auditor though, I have many friends from Accounting course and lasted few years in IA left to other job scope/industry. Crazy working hours during peak, when I mean crazy means work until 4am to 6am, and back to office/client site again at 8am or 10am.
