QUOTE(joblessman @ Oct 14 2016, 02:19 AM) Hello, I'm planning on going over to Singapore for up to 1 year. I've looked through their Extended Visa in their website. None of them are quite suitable for me to apply. I'm hoping to stay for long term, looking for jobs and maybe base myself in Singapore. I don't have a job yet. And waiting for an interview takes forever. I would like to rent somewhere in SG apply and go for interview whenever I get it while going around checking for any opportunity. Please advice. i would like advise, hunting SG job while staying in Malaysia. The best if you can arrange skype/ telephone interview with the company.

QUOTE(myeong86 @ Oct 14 2016, 02:12 PM) If like that, I have 7 years exp, so need 4k... That is hard to reach... 7 year exp in commercial, should be atleast accountant / assistant manager / finance manager? if you have a proper career growth, 4-5k ( accountant) / FM should be at least 5.5 above.

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Oct 16 2016, 09:26 AM) Have you tried CIMB? Has anyone tried? Is the rate ok? last few day the rate was 3.007 but now , they restricted that you only can transfer to your own cimb bank. If you are using cimb bank in malaysia as well ,thats good.

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Oct 16 2016, 06:08 PM) Some FM is only around SGD4k or 4.5k...depends on the roles & resp. If you put too high, you won't get the job. Sometimes you hv to lower a bit. CIMB to CIMB only. That's fine with me. They also use CIMBclicks, right? Based on my auditing experience, i haven't seen FM drawing 4 - 4.5k Even newly incorporated SME's accountant drawing 4.5k. just my 2cent Yes, they used CIMBclicks Singapore.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Oct 25 2016, 10:02 PM) Early last week I heard someone say that term but seriously have no idea what it mean. Now I know... 州府仔是指那些到新加坡工作的马来西亚人。旧时,新加坡、马六甲和槟城都是英国殖民地,称为三州府。称马来西亚人为州府仔,明显地带有贬意。 But Google gave me this eh... Not just Johor but everyone Gua jiu hu kia in hokkien, meaning ppl who come from other place.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Oct 30 2016, 03:00 PM) I think mostly 3 months. Then if before contract end, need pro-rate the deposit paid by the other party i.e if tenant want to end the contract before end of contract period (normally 1 year) say 3rd month of contract, he needs to pay 9 month worth of the half month deposit paid by the landlord. ~75% of half month deposit. Depends on situation, most of the time landlord will "makan" all your deposit paid if you want to terminate before the contract end.

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Oct 31 2016, 10:59 AM) Thanks for both your replies. Btw, if you are staying with the landlord, do they provide you guys with 1. Toilet rolls 2. Pillow 3. Bolster 4. I suppose bedsheet and Pillow/Bolster cover have to buy our own, correct? In my case, they dont. Just buy it from those under hdb flat furniture shop.

In your cases, you guys already got your job permit before you sign the rental agreement? sign with IPA letter, topup the EP NRIC to the agent later on. edited : updated with IPA letter This post has been edited by fcuk90: Nov 2 2016, 01:08 PM

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Nov 8 2016, 06:42 PM) With few PHs, and not as many annual leave, must be very difficult for you guys to take long leave?? ...unless take unpaid leave. most of the co have 12 -20 (annual leaves) which is quite similar to Malaysia i reckon, some can bring forward the unused leave, some cannot - similar to malaysia as well. Apart from fewer PHs, i think there is no different from malaysia? Unless you got a lot of AL in malaysia ( let say 25 days? ) then it will be hard for you to adapt. QUOTE(hiozneko @ Nov 24 2016, 03:36 PM) Yes check with your HR, when I sign on for my current company they process everything from IPA to EP card. No self collect at MOM. I used to carry my passport with me. Until I got my EP then i just lock my passport in the drawer at rented room. you no need to visit EP Centre to register your thumprint and take photo?

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Nov 23 2016, 11:06 PM) Is it the Employment Pass ...or is it IPA?.... has to be collected by the candidate him/herself and not the company? IPA - letter showing your EP application has been approved, but you still need to complete several formality to get the EP itself : eg medical check, you can check your EP application status on MOM whether has it approved already or not by now by key in your passport. Usually, the first day, you need to bring your passport/photocopy of passport to the company so that the HR could make appointment for you to register your thumbprint and take photo at the EP service centre.( as the HR need the passport and white card for them to make appointment ) EP will usually deliver to the company, the HR will ask you to collect.
