Does anyone here trade US market via CIMB i*Trade? If yes, can you furnish me with the brokerage fee table or something of equivalent?

I asked i*Trade via email but I was being redirected around with nothing conclusive. sad.gif

call them, don't expect them to answer email.

briefly, for us markets:

per transaction, <rm100k, brokerage 0.4%, min usd25.
+ sell/buy charges + contract stamp + GST.
approx 0.5% total per buy or sell.

very costly to trade. buy and invest mid-long term, maybe OK.

about same with other local banks.
to trade, u gotta get foreign brokers, much cheaper.

see post#2 of this thread.

Hey thanks for chipping in. I've been with HLeBroking for a few years now but the calculation in their brokerage platform doesn't match the brokerage table that they provided me. It's been years now & still same old shit so was thinking of surveying around. TDA closing my US account doesn't help too. sad.gif

er.. if U were with TDA US, U could easily move to TDA Asia (ie. SG) ma.
why bother with HLeB & iTrade?

FYI - i've HLeB, iTrade, OX & TDA Asia tongue.gif

I don't like the hassle of going through the whole registration again.

Yea, I know, that's a silly excuse since I ended up getting slaughtered by local brokerages.

Anyone else holding either NVDA or AMD? BABA's announcement on collaboration with AMD just shot AMD up by >5%. Gonna see if AMD will break $7 again & find support there.

Just out of curiosity, did TDA state why they close your account?  hmm.gif
*
I received a few PMs asking the same thing so I guess I'm the culprit for making this a lil' too vague.

TDA was shifting APJ accounts over to TD SG so yea, I guess "shifting" is the better term here.

AMD is still shooting to the moon. Been trying to take my eyes off of it ever since I sold it off after the last earnings but damn, the train doesn't seem to be stoppable.

GILD earnings later & NVDA on 9th. This is an exciting week for me.

BTW, has anyone use Halifax Investment Service that's based in Aussie before? The commission was very tempting but I can't seem to locate much info / review about them online. sad.gif

Looks like triple bottom for GILD.   biggrin.gif

Hahaha... that's pharma for you. Most of the time, if the trials passed the paper then they're gonna be green for some time.

I'm not very well versed with TA but I thought I'm seeing triple top instead of triple bottom? biggrin.gif

$GILD earnings report:
[+] better than expected earning
[-] sales of Hep C drugs went down 35% YoY
[-] projections of total sales for 2017 also went down

As a result, stock price plunged around 4% in after-hours trading.

No insider news.

63.5 is going to be an important level

If it can capture the 70 level again then I think it will go sideways.

I assume that it will only start moving back up once the acquire a company since their cash is already up to 32bil.
*
Yea, that's what people are speculating right now. However, most of the time, proposing an acquisition will further push the price down but I guess a lot of hedge fund managers are probably eyeing GILD at this very moment so perhaps it might go the other way around.

Averaged down again at $67.

BTW, what do you guys think about this fees structure for a new brokerage that I was been introduced to (Halifax Investment Services Ltd based in Australia)?

1. US Shares & CFDs: USD0.022 per share (min USD2.75 per trade)
2. Margin account min funding = USD2,000
3. Account balance < USD 1,000 will incur an account keeping fee of USD1.00 per calendar month

I know it's foolish to decide on a brokerage based on the fees / commission alone but it's definitely tempting when most of the offshore brokerages available (not taking into account IB of course) charge at least USD5 - USD10 per trade. sweat.gif

$NVDA beats earning handsomely! Revenue up 55% YOY while EPS up 117% YoY. I wonder how green tonight's gonna be.

NVDA chart is really scary.. but I guess it will continue to go up until everybody is in.  biggrin.gif

Same goes to $AMD's chart, I presume? Both $AMD & $NVDA's 2y chart appears to be ripe for correction.

Another good day for GILD... if you're playing this. It's back to the support price before the drop.  thumbsup.gif

Oh yeah. Pharma bro himself actually appeared in r/wsb & provided a tl;dr DD on why $GILD is a good buy.

I guess those with call options are jumping in joy right now.

Because no one reply my post. And I need confirmation that US have with holding tax. If you see the ASX thread, tehre's a disuccsion going on about US stocks without withholding tax.

I see that you've asked a few times & been receiving some replies that you're not satisfied with.

Perhaps you might want to check with your broker / remisier instead?

Waah.. UAL?  Missed that short after the big news.  laugh.gif

But, on one hand, I felt people should boycott them to punish them for such lousy service.
Most of the time, big corporation like them won't change unless it affects their bottom line.

I'm all for boycotting their airline but on the other hand, if their dip can bring me some moolah, by all means I'm in. biggrin.gif
