Fed planning to raise interest rates by 50 basis points on May, which is 0.5%. Last they increase was 0.25.

now waiting Google earnings report on 26th April hope it is good news.

After May, another 4 more interest rate hikes. Fed plan to hike a total of 6 times!

Not sure what the impact like to the stock market... after deducting quarterly earnings this year.

Don’t dare to make invest in China or HK yet. As long emperor Xi in power. He did many unexpected things before liao.. some can have big impact on stock market.

Need a leader who embrace modernisation, globalisation and pursue peace. Not someone like Xi who is hawkish nationalist and eyeing on Taiwan and those small islands at South China Sea. Also he’s a strong supporter of Russia in the midst of war now.

Also I have personal grudge against him, after he caused crypto markets to fall by banning all cryptos in China.

my Google stock also looks like gonna drop further with their QR not reaching expectations. Haihhhhhh gonna just stick with irish domiciled ETFs after this. See stocks keep drop pun takut, somemore they aren't cheap to buy.

you'll have to see liquidity also when buy ETF. SPY5 is not the popular one. (The primary factors that influence an ETF's liquidity are the composition of the ETF and the trading volume of the individual securities that make up the ETF. )

For me I will narrow down to 2: CSPX and VUAA.
CSPX more pricey but higher liquidity, VUAA being newer but cheaper to buy in smaller amounts, also easier for certain odd amounts of cash that you might have. Most people buy either one for S&P 500 irish domiciled.

Irish domiciled coz save you 15% dividend tax. US domiciled type like SPY etf will charge us 30% dividend tax (even if it is accumulating).

another popular one is VWRA.. world ETF.

During red times like this, if you want narrow down to buy some defensive ETF types, then go for IUUS, IUHS, and IUCS focusing on Utilities, Healthcare, and Consumer Staples. They are less prone to down swings since people need them even in bad times.

I would suggest larger portion in VWRA and VUAA.. now they are at a discount, one day will shoot up when market recovers (do practice DCA rather than lump sum as we never know if they will go down even more).

They say don’t time the market.. but this year I think is exceptional haha. Too many things ongoing and likelihood of recession happening.

Continuous red market also dangerous. Don’t know where is the actual bottom as their prices keep diving.

Imo as long feds say they have not stop increasing interest rate, best we be careful. Only invest spare cash that you can afford to lose. If only Ukraine war stops also.. will give a breather to investors.

Keep extra spare cash at KDI save or Go+, or good Stablecoins such as usdc with high interest (I limit myself to not more than 10% of my portfolio for crypto, currently farming interest using Finblox for USDC, others might prefer Anchor Protocol or Nexo etc)

Celcius also can but I find Nexo most trustworthy.
Problem of Nexo is if want to earn more interest, need to have Nexo tokens in it.
Finblox can accept many crypto also with high yield, but ppl will doubt it coz it's new.. I'm using it as of now for stablecoin farming.

I think now best is to keep cash. Or maybe invest in our local reits or blue chips with high dividend since their growth aren’t negative yet. Even SG also now downturn already.

I read Reddit someone say best to wait stocks and etf drop till 30-40% of their price then only start buying. Fed going to keep raise interest raise till they are satisfied. Which means stock prices will keep drop lower. Dunno when can recover capital if buy now only to see their value drop in a few weeks time.
