QUOTE(lamode @ Apr 28 2024, 02:59 PM) i guess priced in liao ba as market already aware the ongoing issues with First Republic Bank since last year, their stock price tanked >95% in few days before halt trading. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/202...d-checkout=truethis is more or less the inevitable conclusion. https://nypost.com/2023/03/31/republic-firs...-republic-bank/ i thought they are different bank than the one that failed last year? QUOTE(Davidtcf @ Jun 6 2024, 10:01 AM) is because of this news: last time very high rate cut hope in early 2024, then now that hope is moved to September and November 2024.https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/us-job-o...ril-2024-06-04/ hence ppl betting that Fed will cut rates soon. I wonder what will happen if the rate cuts not happening. i think rate cut only happened when recession is confirmed only. |

QUOTE(engineer @ Jul 11 2024, 11:17 AM) it will be the next 'tesla' in the next few years.but before it becomes like tesla, many choose to ride this bull. it will take sometime for others to rival nvda but the race is started already by Goggle and Meta. Meta and google already announce their partnership to rival nvidia by plan to produce their own inhouse AI chip https://fortune.com/2024/04/11/meta-google-...ollar-question/ |

QUOTE(engineer @ Jul 11 2024, 01:20 PM) If it's just the chips, it's only half the answer to Nvidia. You need a software ecosystem with all the AI algo to rival Nvidia's CUDA platform. The chips are built on top of the software platform. It's a moat that Nvidia built many years back. It is very sticky and will be very hard for customer to move away from Nvidia. I agree on that one. Although cuda is the leader today, cloud vendor would like to see alternative choices and better competition. If any alternative open source tool were incoming, it can disrupt Nvidia. |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Jul 26 2024, 10:42 PM) You know, I just don't get it why people willing to pay such a high valuation for TSLA for being a car company. If not for govt subsidies and tax breaks, TSLA would not have been making any sales. In US, if Trump takes over next year, it is going to be goodbye to electric car subsidies. Back in 2022, I did raise the point that Tesla PE is too high and it doesn't make sense. But then those Tesla fanboy whack me saying Tesla is not a car company, it's a technology company bla bla bla that's why the high PE is justifiable. Both TM and F only has around 10-15 PE only. Imo, TM now seems to be better choice too being traditional car maker and that juicy yield. I hope they still holding their Tesla stock 😆 |
