QUOTE(john123x @ Oct 11 2025, 03:33 AM) thank you. Now I know why market weird today. Next week may be a good time to sell put options, especially if you are not in the market as yet. If stocks get assigned, can be a good starting point to accumulate stocks. If aldy invested in the US mkts, it's a bloodbath but if you have sufficient capital, you can start BTFD, as per Ramjade's advice to make money longterm in the US mkt.Same as usual, Trump has a very big mouth. QUOTE(luminaryxi @ Oct 11 2025, 11:23 AM) recently i trade weekly HOOD, NVDA and SOFI optionsto be honest, i dont know i will be assigned or not. final deadline to exercise is typically 5:30 p.m. ET on the expiration date. Meaning from 4pm to 5.30pm EST is beyond options seller control. If some options buyer want to exercise at this time, i might get assigned I got short NVDA 180 Oct10 position, and if you check NVDA after hours chart, NVDA went below 180 from 5.16pm ET |

Trading vs Exercise cutoff time is different. But hopefully he didn't get exercised of course... |

Buyer can manually choose to exercise it. Also after hours it's entirely up the buyer to manually exercise it.the put holder may choose to exercise the option because it wanted to get rid of its nvda position... John is the put seller. He is waiting for the system to settle and find out if he kena assigned. Judging at the official closing price of nvda, hopefully no buyer choose to exercise. |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Oct 11 2025, 08:45 AM) I do not do index investing but i would say all returns has their risk and the probability of said risk.If we plot the voo and qqq historical sharpe ratio against buffett indicator. The difference between voo and qqq risk adjusted return would make sense to prefer qqq when market is low or moderately priced as the probability of drawdown is not high so the risk is worth taking for the returns. But given current context and without the power of hindsight, i would say voo would be the better choice currently, as a over valued market would amplify each percentile of risk you take vs its return. |

I guess there is a fine line between informed risk taking and survivorship biases. The new global monetary policy is really creating a sense of complacency in markets that people are dismissing the wisdom of old. I myself is also having a hard time juggling between growth investing and fundamental investing. |

There has been no real crashes ever since QE was introduced, which is close to 20 years now. It's the same. If a company is doing well, the price will follow. Majority of people would have never imagine how long it took if you invest in nifty fifty or dotcom to recover from an actual crash via organic market cycle for tech focused growth stock. Hence i say the complacency. |

Sadly nowadays crash is few days and then recover. If it stays down longer the better.
