QUOTE(abcn1n @ Apr 13 2020, 01:58 PM) Ramjade You don't have any USA stocks/ETF then? I thought you would have some previously and maybe have started buying some now. At what level/price then would you be buying US stocks/ETF? Only one. Bpy. If it falls 20% from last low. Then I will buy. Not worth wasting my money. QUOTE(joeblow @ Apr 13 2020, 10:50 PM) Motley fool actually recommended this share. Can you elaborate more on the tax free, I thought we get taxed flat 30% on dividend? You mean via IB we will not be taxed? Full dividend? Thanks. QUOTE(markedestiny @ Apr 13 2020, 10:51 PM) It's LP , limited partner which has complicated tax filing ? Edit to add, how do you file for the tax documentations for tax refund? It's based in Bermuda. Since it's not based in US it''s tax free. What file for tax? You don't file tax with US IRS and you don't need to file for dividends with LHDN since foreign dividend not taxed by Malaysian govt.

QUOTE(markedestiny @ Apr 13 2020, 11:15 PM) Yes I read about it from the link you share previously and that this LP is based in Bermuda which is supposedly tax free. IINM, even Americans need to file for additional papers for MLP or LP which are tax free for them too. I don't know enough, so perhaps you can share later when you get dividend distributed to you. Btw the author of the link which you shared above has been trying to dispose his BPY but still has some left as he can't manage to sell in time. I am looking to buy more cause after the virus 3-5 years is just a blip.So far already got. IB just minus some small dividend with holding tax like USD1.xx? It's a small aamount. Let them have it. I know there's like a 1-2% with holding tax for this counter.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 13 2020, 11:31 PM) key assumption: “If the U.S. does not experience a second surge in infections after the economy reopens, the ‘do whatever it takes’ stance of policy makers means the equity market is unlikely to make new lows,” said Kostin.almost everyday that fauci guy (yet trump wants to fire him) is saying "flattening, peaking" but is always very loosely qualified. even spain, italy dare not say peak yet.... only $ analysts are singing this peak song everyday. it took china >11 weeks to get a hold on it. and nobody dare say china economy is getting back on track. "do whatever it takes"... is somewhat a misnomer... full of hot air. nothing is clear unit 1q earnings start to come out. i wait... They are coming out this month?

QUOTE(joeblow @ Apr 14 2020, 12:06 AM) Actually this share looks good. So you mean the dividend do not need to hold 30%? My other dividend paying stocks always withhold 30%. Also is this stock ADR? ADR shares charge some small fees... Custodian fee I think. No tax. Not an ADR.

QUOTE(GloryKnight @ Apr 21 2020, 10:10 PM) Anyone of you planning to go into RDSB? Crossroads at either entering now or waiting to retest near March lows. Me. Of course but I will wait. No hurry. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 21 2020, 10:23 PM

QUOTE(GloryKnight @ Apr 21 2020, 10:33 PM) There's an interesting chart for RDSB from this guy below: https://www.ii.co.uk/analysis-commentary/ch...d-time-ii511348I like his simple technical analysis. In a nutshell, he is saying it is now the 4th wave down to retest March lows. There's another commentary on motley, agree-ing both BP & Shell are in attractive position for long-haul entries. To add a lil bit more spice, Brent's June contract is up to expire in 6 days on the 27th April. We have 1 week to see how RDSB holds up Not sure which is better. BP or shell. I like shell for it's record.

QUOTE(joeblow @ Apr 21 2020, 11:02 PM) Can I check, you guys buy shell using lse and pound right? Dividend is tax free or also 30% withholding like US? Just buy either LSE in pounds or NYSE in USD. Your choice. No tax.

QUOTE(Raymond_ACCA @ Apr 22 2020, 08:29 AM) They should be cutting down on dividends and buybacks in the near future. O&g more like a capital gain play if anything. Shell already cut their buyback. Dividend still continue. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 22 2020, 08:36 AM

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Apr 22 2020, 08:39 AM) Looking like it. Just for trades. My friend calls it a sunset industry. It won't be sunset as in the winter you still need to heat up your house unless global warming makes winter insignificant. Not to mentioned your ships and planes. There's no electric ship or planes yet.

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Apr 22 2020, 09:21 AM) But growth is negative since electric cars and renewables are becoming more prominent. Q1. What's powering the electric grid? Majority still your natural gas. Q2. Do super oil majors have electric charging station? Yes. Well I know shell, BP, total, chevron have. XOM no. XOM still want to focus on oil and gas. Shell bought up some Denmark main charging station BP bought up UK main charging station. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 22 2020, 09:30 AM

QUOTE(GloryKnight @ Apr 22 2020, 11:39 PM) Trump uses authority to ask Chevron to quit Venezuela and order navy to shoot Iranian oil tankers. Well...no need more money stimulus, use missiles and companies to force oil up. So far my reads still hold strong ~median19, 16-20, looking at next 24.5 for brent. Hope it stays! Quick kills! Actually they don't shoot oil tankers. Is stupid Iran trying to flex muscle towards US navy in international waters.
