hi all , im using unifi 30mb and recently the old dlink ( the old 615 model) having problem and they replaced a RGX4400 today. This router been really shitty to me, let me put them in points form and hoping some of you can maybe point me to the correct direction in tweaking them. I believe its the setting?

1. i cant seems to connect to maybank2u with icognito windows (chrome)
2. my world of warcraft game latency from 300+ latency jump to 5000 ??
3. Connecting to everywhere else seems to be slow by 50% compare to the last couter.
4. CCTV will fail to access most of the time after Setup the port forwarding.
5. Sending a whatsapp message will need to wait 6-10 seconds to be delivered -.-"
6. youtube - ok so far
7. torrent - used to be able to reach 1-2 MB , now stuck at 60-150 kbs.....
8. Facebook is slow like snail.

and i called TM to ask them where to change DNS they told me oh this is new product i dont really know how to @.@" , cause i cant seems to find that option. I really miss my old D-Link....

Odd that you're having so many probs with it. I think it's a fantastic router for its price (RM0). Are you getting full 30mbps for Speedtest?

I have one. Though I don't use the one I have, I do use the RGX4400 at a local coffee shop almost everyday and have had nothing but smooth wifi. It's good enough to handle all the customers in this coffee shop without rebooting for many days. Longest uptime so far is 8 days. In fact I'm here right now writing this.

1. No probs with maybank2u. Tried both Chrome normal and incognito.
2. Don't game but battle.net looking glass is giving me ping average 255ms to US WoW.
3. Speed feels fast to me. The coffee shop is on UniFi Biz 100mbps.
4. No CCTV but my uncle's house, also RGX4400, has a NAS running an FTP server. Port forwarded from 2121 to 21. No probs also.
5. Whatsapp also normal.
6. Youtube OK too.
7. Tested torrent here last week, was getting 80+mbps on 4 well-seeded torrents. And can still surf on phone while torrent was running so the interface queues seems to be working somewhat well.
8. Facebook seems OK.

Tested on MacBook Pro Retina 13" 2011 on 5Ghz AC. Router is more or less default config. No changes to DNS config.

mydyory, just guessing here since you didn't state the model of your router but it's Opr@XXXX where XXXX is the last 4 characters of the MAC address.

hi buddy thanks for replying, yea i also find it weird to have so much problem after changing this not sure if its router DOA or what, i just reset to factory default but same... im going to give up for now lol and chase TM to send engineer again.

oh speed test looks good at 28mb but the 1st 5 second its at 1mbps then after that straight jump to 30 and drop . End result is 28.

thanks for the DNS going to put it in and hope for miracle to happen lol .. although i know it wont help LOL

I just remembered something, I disabled IPV6 for the coffee shop's router. I think that's the only thing I did to the router that differs from the defaults.

When you're having all those probs, are you on wifi or wired? Maybe wifi interference or something. Or as you said, could be just a bad unit.

buddy you mind sharing how you disable the IPV6, i tried it but when go to status still showing IPV6.

hellforce, I was wondering did the installer set separate SSIDs for your 2.4GHz and 5 GHz wifi? or a single SSID for both? I'm not sure if I asked you this before, when you encounter the problems that you mentioned, were you on wifi? Have you tested while connected with a cable?
If you search in this thread, and maybe V25, for RGX4400, you'll see some of the tests (speed, bittorrent, cpu, mem, etc) that I did at the coffee shop with the RGX4400.

hellforce seems to be having some probs with his.

My uncle also has RGX4400. Covers his whole 3-storey terrace on 2.4GHz. 5GHz cannot.

I like it so much that I bought one from a fellow forumer. Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet.

@soonwai , i did it with both wire and wireless and my SSID are both different for 2.4 and 5 . Yesterday after 1 PM no connection until i do a manual reboot on the router this morning. @.@" i better call TM and get a new replacement.
