"Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is defined as the power ratio between a signal (meaningful information) and the background noise (unwanted signal):
SNR = signal / noise
6dB or below SNR is bad, you will experience no sync, or intermittent sync problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variation in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no sync problems (if no large variation)
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Some of my friend at VDSL area able to subscribe 50Mbps. But TM ask them to subscribe 30Mbps first. After one month TM has got the attainable speed reading and the one with good reading able to upgrade to 50Mbps. 100Mbps confirmed not able for VDSL.

Re:Abnormal for me getting around 28Mbps only
Thank you for contacting TM.

Referring to the e-mail dated 9th September 2016 on Unifi connection issue, we apologised for the inconvenience caused.

However, please be informed that normally you will be received 80% and above for the download and upload from the package that you subscribed. In order for us to proceed with the necessary action, kindly test your highspeed test at http://speedtest.tm.com.my and send us few (3) screen shots of your speed test results in jpeg format using UniFi speedometer from your PC using UniFi internet service and please do the test via LAN connection to isolate wireless or network issue.

For any further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my. Alternatively, you may also contact TM at 100 (charges for calls from mobile services apply according to Telco providers

We look forward to serve you better.

They are very firm with their at least 80% policy. dry.gif

FU Policy
Fair Usage Poilcy is a lovely marketing term that—like all marketing drivel—has very little meaning for the end user. We like to call it the ISP's FU Policy. What it essentially means is that the service provider decides an arbitrary usage limit for their tariff plan and drops the speed of the connection when you hit that limit

According to regulations, the service provider has to intimate the end user when 80 percent of their usage under FUP has been reached.
