Check the IPV6 Status. Should be empty under WAN.

Oh yeah, the RGX4400, for a free router, is freaking awesome. The coffee shop which I started frequenting recently uses it with Unifibiz 100. Day in, day out, never misses a beat. So far longest is 8 days uptime. And that's because I restarted it after some configuration. Very impressed with it.

hellforce, I was wondering did the installer set separate SSIDs for your 2.4GHz and 5 GHz wifi? or a single SSID for both? I'm not sure if I asked you this before, when you encounter the problems that you mentioned, were you on wifi? Have you tested while connected with a cable?

If you search in this thread, and maybe V25, for RGX4400, you'll see some of the tests (speed, bittorrent, cpu, mem, etc) that I did at the coffee shop with the RGX4400.

hellforce seems to be having some probs with his.

My uncle also has RGX4400. Covers his whole 3-storey terrace on 2.4GHz. 5GHz cannot.

I like it so much that I bought one from a fellow forumer. Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet.

Hey guys , recently My DIR615 router is giving some problems , turning off a few times by itself. It was a router from day 1 use unifi since about 4-5 years ago

So I called TM for a replacement and they told me if they replace it for free , my contract will be renewed or alternatively I just need to pay rm120+ for a new router

I asked them about the model and they are unable to answer.. Would any of u know which model will be the replacement ? Thanjs

Yes. You are not on IPV6 anymore. But your IPV4 address looks like it is private Ip address.

Nice catch mztang52, I didn't notice that. The gateway is definitely a private IP address.

hellforce what IP address were you assigned (first 2 numbers will good enough to tell from)? If it's also a private address then it'll be the first time I've seen Unifi do this. It'll also explain why your CCTV doesn't work.

1st time, offer standard package
2nd time, offer RM199 with free 600 minute calls
3rd time, offer Rm169 without free call.

I wonder if I wait will get free upgrade or not. biggrin.gif

I got RM179 offer a few times, kept rejecting. They never gave RM169 though.

Then last week they gave free upgrade to VIP10. No complaints man. Most importantly I don't spend more.

I called regarding the free upgrade to VIP10, not qualified cause mine is a new subs and still under contract.
But my parents place is qualified and just waiting for the free upgrade.

So now considering the upgrade to Adv30.

Odd that you're having so many probs with it. I think it's a fantastic router for its price (RM0). Are you getting full 30mbps for Speedtest?

I have one. Though I don't use the one I have, I do use the RGX4400 at a local coffee shop almost everyday and have had nothing but smooth wifi. It's good enough to handle all the customers in this coffee shop without rebooting for many days. Longest uptime so far is 8 days. In fact I'm here right now writing this.

1. No probs with maybank2u. Tried both Chrome normal and incognito.
2. Don't game but battle.net looking glass is giving me ping average 255ms to US WoW.
3. Speed feels fast to me. The coffee shop is on UniFi Biz 100mbps.
4. No CCTV but my uncle's house, also RGX4400, has a NAS running an FTP server. Port forwarded from 2121 to 21. No probs also.
5. Whatsapp also normal.
6. Youtube OK too.
7. Tested torrent here last week, was getting 80+mbps on 4 well-seeded torrents. And can still surf on phone while torrent was running so the interface queues seems to be working somewhat well.
8. Facebook seems OK.

Tested on MacBook Pro Retina 13" 2011 on 5Ghz AC. Router is more or less default config. No changes to DNS config.

To set your own DNS servers:

mydyory, just guessing here since you didn't state the model of your router but it's Opr@XXXX where XXXX is the last 4 characters of the MAC address.

Just wondering, DNS setting is not under DNS server? because after i changed to google dns under DHCP, in my DNS status still showing TM DNS.

Good question, I think it's like this.

Let's assume we use 8.8.8.8 as our custom DNS.

Service/DHCP
1. If you use "Set Manually" and you key-in your custom DNS servers here, it should give out those DNS to your PCs and phones.
(so your PCs should get 8.8.8.8 for DNS server)
user posted image

2. If you use "Use DNS Relay" then the router becomes the DNS server and it will use the DNS set in the Service/DNS Server section.
(your PCs should get 192.168.0.1 for DNS server)
user posted image

Service/DNS Server
1. Auto: it will use the DNS servers assigned from TM via PPPoE
(sarawakreport goes to MCMC)
2. Manual: it will the DNS servers entered here.
(if manual, not sure if it will ignore the DNS from PPPoE or use it in addition to the manual ones)
(sarawakreport accessible)

I'll test it out when I go to the RGX4400 coffee shop next. Today I'm at the coffee shop with Maxis 20mbps and Thomson router. Yucks.

Update: Just verified that the above is how it works.

Good router but RM900! I think too much overkill for 30-100mbps Unifi. Won't see any performance difference from, say a free RGX4400, for 20 users or less. PC to notebook file transfers should fly provided your notebook has better than 2x2 AC. Perhaps the feature set makes up for it. Anyone care to comment on Wifi performance?
