Complained already. Technician even came to my house. He told me 28Mbps is good enough, more than 80% of their promised speed. Only if it is less than 24Mbps (80%), I can complain. dry.gif

before this

your speed profile + extra 10% - overhead = you get almost 100% of your advertised speed.

right now

you speed profile - overhead = you get almost 80% or more.
this is theoretical anyway.coz i only get 48Mbps on my 50Mbps plan.before this can get around 51-52Mbps.
*
Don't know la. Luckily 28Mbps is more than enough for my own usage.

Anyway, please multi-quote next time. You just posted three posts at one go.

why 28mbps only ??
*
Because TM capped the speed for some of the users?

QUOTE(gungho @ Sep 9 2016, 10:47 AM)
Guys,
Anyone has any issue here now or happened to you before, some websites can go in, some cannot.
Like uob.com.my, soccernet.com, amway.com for example these all cannot.
But those like facebook.com, youtube.com, yahoo.com and google.com can..

Reported to TM yesterday, but no reply from them yet.

Thanks.
*
I always login to UOB. No issue.
FB, YouTube, Yahoo! (for email), Google also no issue.

Yeah, restarted but still the same. I can tolerate 28Mbps but 3Mpbs? That's too much! (or too little tongue.gif)
*
Call 100 to ask them to reset port and still not fixed, get them to open a case and get a technician to come over. Nobody can tolerate 3Mbps.

Well, it's been awhile. First time using them will get 1~2Mb higher unless the lag spike up during speed test then will go even higher than advertise speed. Few months later they usually hard cap the speed 1~2Mb lower.

This is mine, using LAN cable, my upload speed for some reason is unstable from start to end and my download speed spike up to 19.03Mb as soon as the test starts and the speed lock at 19.03Mb all the way from start to the end :

How about testing from your other device? Or download something?

Its ugh... unstable for me on wifi speed spiking up and down all the time. Need to delete bad results. This is the best I got.
*
First thing first, call to reset your port. If it is still happening, open a case and get technician to come. They may replace your router or do some configuration.

Re:Abnormal for me getting around 28Mbps only
Thank you for contacting TM.

Referring to the e-mail dated 9th September 2016 on Unifi connection issue, we apologised for the inconvenience caused.

However, please be informed that normally you will be received 80% and above for the download and upload from the package that you subscribed. In order for us to proceed with the necessary action, kindly test your highspeed test at http://speedtest.tm.com.my and send us few (3) screen shots of your speed test results in jpeg format using UniFi speedometer from your PC using UniFi internet service and please do the test via LAN connection to isolate wireless or network issue.

For any further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my. Alternatively, you may also contact TM at 100 (charges for calls from mobile services apply according to Telco providers

We look forward to serve you better.

They are very firm with their at least 80% policy. dry.gif

FU Policy
Fair Usage Poilcy is a lovely marketing term that—like all marketing drivel—has very little meaning for the end user. We like to call it the ISP's FU Policy. What it essentially means is that the service provider decides an arbitrary usage limit for their tariff plan and drops the speed of the connection when you hit that limit

According to regulations, the service provider has to intimate the end user when 80 percent of their usage under FUP has been reached.
*
This has nothing to do with FUP...

Hi guys I am still under the very old contract of Rm159 for 5mps per month. As I see they are offering 30mps for Rm199 , it's there any way I can upgrade to a better deal? Thanks.
*
They may upgrade you to 10Mbps for free. If you have been a good paymaster, the chances to be upgraded are pretty high.

Thank you for contacting TM.

Referring to your e-mail dated 10th September 2016 pertaining to the connection issue. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kindly be informed that the speed of Unifi service is based on "best effort" policy. "Best effort" describes a service that is provided without any service level assurance.

Unifi subscribers should receive at least 80% of the subscribed speed within TM domain and subject to certain factors. If the speed falls below 80%, TM will investigate it as a fault and restore the connection accordingly.

However, based on attachment provided we found that you have received 80% of the subscribed speed.

For any further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my. Alternatively, you may also contact TM at 100 (charges for calls from mobile services apply according to Telco providers).

We look forward to serve you better.
*
And so? Best Effort Policy is not Fair Usage Policy. Both are totally different policies/things.

it seems like TM are using the old trick again like streamyx "speed is best effort"

this few day i have notice my speed isn't streaming up to 10mbps.....and a speedtest check wala...maximum 8mbps i get while upload is un-affected which is 10mbps
*
8Mbps is 80%, so can't really complain. Sigh...

lately i have been torrenting hard

guess that activated the "best effort"? plausible?

the lost of 1mbps is damn a lot......that is about 100kb/s gone  vmad.gif  ranting.gif

your 30mbps should be around 28mbps rite?
*
Yes, few months ago still 32Mbps. I don't torrent, only streaming. Anyway, I'm not alone so can live with it since I'm using it alone.

I never got connected to hypptv since I first subscribed to Unifi years ago. Only now I noticed they itemised the charge for Unifi & hypptv. And apparently there's no wifi enabled set top box for Unifi. I'm getting out as soon as my contract expires.
*
UniFi and HyppTV come as package, you cannot leave out HyppTV. I have never installed too but still forced to pay RM 30 every month. dry.gif

Well that just sucks. Imagine paying for something we never use. I dunno about you but my apartment's wiring configuration cannot cater to both internet & cable tv in the same position. I can change the present TV position but that would require me to change other stuffs too.
*
I don't even have a TV but I do have a 24" full HD monitor which I have been using since 5 years ago but I'm still not using it for HyppTV. laugh.gif

QUOTE(westlife @ Sep 19 2016, 10:38 AM)
haha. thanks. i also hope to get a fast Internet soon. I cannot stand the slow Internet speed that I am using currently.  sad.gif

30Mbps for 10 to 15 persons I think it is not too little actually. Even most business they much slower speed to be shared among even more ppl. Like 75Mbps to be shared among 12k to 15k ppl.

But of course comparing to country lion city, 30Mbps is seriously nothing as the base Internet speed is already 100Mbps (which costs as well as RM120 equipvalent in price) there. But I am glad that TM has at least had the option of 100Mbps for user to choose from.

2Mbps streamyx that I am using now is terrible considered that it is year 2016 now.  sad.gif
*
I'm using 30Mbps alone... sweat.gif
75Mbps for 12k to 15k people? Are you sure?

Even in my office, we are using 20Mbps-30Mbps per person for around 180 headcounts. Our server is in Finland..
