Probably you can get TM replace HyppTV box for you, just like calvinlaw510 mentioned in Post #2498?

Ic. Thanks for the confirmation. It is good to hear that.

I had waited for a total of 2.5 years before this came. I have been using the 4Mbps Streamyx with no chicle for the past 2 years.

They just finished this thing yesterday. Any idea when I can start registering for the unifi service?
I try to register only, but my address is stil yet to show in the system.
*
No idea honestly, you may need to wait a while to have Unifi fully ready in your housing area.
It took me two months to wait TM technician came over to setup Unifi in my house, after the Unifi junction box (green box) installed in my housing area.

What can you do now is apply Unifi with TM directly or any TM agent (probably you will see them setup a booth outside your housing area), provide your housing address for them to check is your place is within the coverage or not, if not they will you in to their waiting list.
By the time it is ready, TM (or TM agent) will inform you about this and you shall be contacted by TM technician for the Unifi setup.

ic. thanks a lot for the sharing.

two months? i see. at least i know the logical timeframe to expect before I can register for the unifi service.
they just finished the green box two days ago so i supposed now it is to wait for them to connect it to trunking to the main terminal at my area?

Besides, is there any port availability limit like what streamyx has meaning if there is any limit in one area how many active unifi lines can have? Reason is that streamyx service will always run out of port, once port is run out, one can wait till other customers to cancel the line before one can subscribe to streamyx.

I hope the unifi has no such limit given that it is a new type of infrastructure? If it also has the same limitation like streamyx then it will be absurd, as it is meant to replace older technology and to provide service to customers and most importantly it supposes to be a thing for TM to make $$ also rite. If no ports, why provide the service.

i think i will constantly daily to check on TM website to see if it is ready for subscribe. Once it can be selected, then I make apointment with TM to install. It maybe faster.

Two months for me doesn't mean it is the same for you.
Probably you will get Unifi coverage anytime soon or could be longer, that's why in my last post I mentioned it is better to check with TM on this, or get TM agent to follow-up with you.

About the Unifi port, yes it can be run out too.
To be safe side, please do register much earlier so that your name is in their waiting list, then you have much higher changes to secure a Unifi port for yourself.
For my case, I applied through TM agent to apply Unifi access. After two months waiting, they contacted me that it is all ready and they already sign me up for this, then on following week the TM technician arrange appointment with me for the setup, all good. thumbup.gif

ic. thanks for sharing.

ya, i understand that the time may differ. I will monitor closely on the status on this. tongue.gif at least the green box is here, so no matter how, sooner or later the unifi service will be available.

then i must act fast already. hopefully my side won't have so much 'competition'. tongue.gif my area here is ready for 2.5 years already. but a lot of owners have yet to move in. my prescint has at most less than 30% occupancy as a whole prescint.

Wish you luck, hope to get good news from you that Unifi is ready. thumbsup.gif

Hi Guys,

I am using Unifi 30mbps. Recently notice that connection speed is very slow.

Fyi,around 10-15 ppl are using Unifi 30mbps. Do I need to get a better router or need to upgrade my speed for faster connection?
*
Wah... 30Mbps shared by 10-15 users? Is it enough for everyone to get internet access?
Assume you upgrade to much better router, does it make any differences to speed up the connection for up to 15 users with 30Mbps connection speed?

You can try to upgrade the router first and see does it help, after that you can decide should you upgrade to better connection speed - 50Mbps / 100Mbps.

as my experience, after I saw the fiber termination box and cable guy lay down fiber, takes around 1 year for unifi available at my house. It might takes less or more laugh.gif

Wow... that's too long for you to wait. sweat.gif

hey guys, any recommendations in the <RM300 range? something that can support hypptv flawlessly, and maybe with detachable antennas so i can switch them to my 9dbi ones
*
I believe Asus RT-N12HP should meet your requirement:
- price range around RM210 - RM250, below RM300 of course
- comes with 2 detachable high-gain 9dBi antennas, you can keep your existing one as spare.
- no issue with hypptv, do select the ISP profile as "UNIFI Home" and connect through LAN port 4

haha. thanks. i also hope to get a fast Internet soon. I cannot stand the slow Internet speed that I am using currently.  sad.gif

30Mbps for 10 to 15 persons I think it is not too little actually. Even most business they much slower speed to be shared among even more ppl. Like 75Mbps to be shared among 12k to 15k ppl.

But of course comparing to country lion city, 30Mbps is seriously nothing as the base Internet speed is already 100Mbps (which costs as well as RM120 equipvalent in price) there. But I am glad that TM has at least had the option of 100Mbps for user to choose from.

2Mbps streamyx that I am using now is terrible considered that it is year 2016 now.  sad.gif

Well... I'm slightly better than you - still using VIP5 until now.
30Mbps for 10 to 15 users could be slow as everyone may use internet connection for various purposes at the same time: youtube, torrent, download, voip, iptv, etc. This doesn't sound right if everyone use it only for checking email and not for others.

Similar like fruitie, in my company I can get around 20Mbps to 40Mbps in average for more than 1K users.
Assume I divide the connection speed 75Mbps with half of 12K users (6K), that would be 12Kbps in average for each person, isn't it too slow for business with 12K employee?
