Its bundled together. If u cancel hypptv, your whole package will be terminated.

cant be - the statements are incosistent on tm's side. in such a case the "rule" more advantegous to the consumer applies.

if you look for example at this doc:

https://www.tm.com.my/Documents/Unifi/FAQ%2...0and%20Pro.pdf:

"7. What are the Add-Ons offered in the all new UniFi package?
Customers are able to pick and choose the relevant Add-Ons that will boost their broadband
experience.

(..)

4. HyppTV
packs
Watch the latest shows on
HyppTV
Additional from as low as RM 30/month
• Choose from Jumbo, Aneka, Ruby or
Varnam pack."

This means that you have the ability to choose from those packs, but you are not required to (=add on). If you cancel the optional add-on, the remaining or basic pack remains. they have their own pricing anyway.

This is impression is further enhanced by its individual minimum subscription term (12mths) vs. unifi advance (24 mth). This again indicates to the consumer they have a choice to cancel it indepently.

Then:

"10. Will I be able to subscribe to the all new UniFi without any HyppTV Pack?
No. The all new UniFi package offers bundled triple play services which consist of High Speed
Internet, Voice services and HyppTV (IPTV) pack."

Again there is the BASIC pack...

and then it reads:

11. Can I change my HyppTV pack after I subscribe to the all new UniFi package? Where can I
request to change my HyppTV Pack?
Yes, but customer are subject to fees as below:
No. Activity Fees
3. Downgrade HyppTV Pack RM10

So I would attempt to downgrade to the free basic pack for a downgrade fee of 10 RM and argue for it. I cant be sure I will win but the argument would that the impression and option is actually outlined and as such should be available to the consumer.

Just realised that my 30mbps package is doing 28mbps max. Does seem to be a capping from their side as it usually can burst around 30-32mbps before slowing down to 28mbps consistently.

Not sure when but few weeks back did a test and it was still around 30-31mbps. If this is happening to more users then I believe TM may be capping it slightly lower than 30mbps.

If the speed is below 30 mbps call unifi and complain. I made a couple of complain about not getting full speed, they came and change the router [ac = full speed] wireless n I can't get full speed.

We can only complain if the speed is below 80% a.k.a. below 24Mbps... So, gotta live with the 28Mbps. No issue with my router or anything... They already capped the speed for us, unfortunately.

I was referring to me and OKLY and the rest who got capped. My friend is still getting more than 30Mbps which I used to get as well. Yours is 50Mbps package, ours is 30Mbps.

It seems that the 30mbps package is the most reported to be capped, maybe because to ease congestion? icon_idea.gif

Most probably they capped at 30,000,000 bit/s which equal to 28.6Mbp/s. If they put 30Mbps than it's equal to 31,457,280 bit/s.

Yes, just connect it to your TV. In fact, TM gives it for free even if you are not a Streamyx/UniFi user. Just download HyppTV Everywhere on your phone or tablet then register a free account. I'm using it on my Android box.

Probably since new applicants' minimum package is 30Mbps and they are pushing most of the existing users to 30Mbps.

the thing is that if they are confusing, you can make a case that the confusion will be treated at the expense of the party applying the terms i.e. the most favorable version applies to the consumer. in that case you should be able to get out. i will try to remove my ruby pack once the year is over and downgrade it to HyppTV basic. if they dont let me I will go to MCMC or let small claims court make a ruling as to wether or not I can exit based on the misleading information provided. Afterall TM could have phrased theirs terms better. furthermore by original VIP contract still applies according to TM (got it confirmed by them in writing). That one clearly doesnt require me to take anything besides HyppTV basic. my ruby pack expires next year - I will update you all if I can managed to downgrade to basic.

it just pains me to pay for something that i dont want and dont use at all. i rather get a pile of old 1 RM notes and burn it every month. at least can grill a sausage over it and eat it smile.gif
