no point upgrading to streamyx 2MB connection as we are upgraded to 2MB connection and the charges are the same like what we normally pay for the 1MB connection.

He's not the only one not satisfied with TMnet. In fact if you're satisfied with TM Net's quality of service I don't think you fully realize what you're experiencing.

Eh, the big question is, does latency improve when upgrading to 1mbps to 2mbps? I'd guess no, in which case it would be a pointless waste of money (if you're talking about WoW only la).

What's the point upgrading to 2MB just for WoW when WoW doesn't fully utilize it? 1MB is more than enough for WoW. No matter how good is your bandwidth, the distance between US and Malaysia will be the bottleneck.

Tmnet sucks..whenever they say they are upgrading and after the upgrades ... get rdy for frequent disconnections and slow speeds! Customer service makes you wanna puke, dont bother calling them. Waste of time and money. Why would they make you pay to call their CS hotline? Everytime i call 1300889515 its cost me RM5. Warning : DO NOT CALL 1300889515 IF YOU HAVE ANGER MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS! i've stayed in the US before and of course connecting to their local servers are extremely fast.. the reason is that it is a LOCAL server for them whereas connecting to malaysian servers from the US is slow...
when we connect to our LOCAL servers, we experience faster speeds than when i connected to my server from the US..
its the distance between 2 places... the further it is, of course there will be service degradation... its just common sense..
you're not satisfied because its giving a so called slow service, why not blame the game provider for not starting a local server to fill your gaming needs?
the only thing TM needs to work on is its customer service, they dont know how to explain to the customers and are not all are trained to the acceptable levels.

@bansai : Yes its true that it will have a higher response time when connecting here.
but what you did not know is that normal latancy from sea is 300 ping.
We did see it from sgs user and all.
What tmnet did was Bandwidth throttling.
Alot of people thinks that Bandwidth throttling is just limiting speed. Thats is wrong. What Bandwidth throttling is a method of ensuring a bandwidth intensive device, such as a server, will limit ("throttle") the quantity of data it transmits and/or accepts within a specified period of time. Bandwidth throttling helps provide quality of service (QoS) by limiting network congestion and server crashes
And In layman terms, it is slowing each packetdown so that more packets can be send in that specific amount of time.
Next time read before you flame troll

well, bandwidth throttling hasn't affected my home in PJ, on a 60.52 ip i get around 350-400ms constant on WoW and my server seems to be doing fine in Taman Tun and Putrajaya, both serving medium loads and the only thing affecting me is the torrent connections atm, which they denied doing anything to my connection..
sorry to have flame trolled, i think..

Bandwidth throttling has effected everyone. Its just that in your area have more international bandwidth allocated to that set of ip. And hence less queue for your packet to be transmitted and therefore less lag

Poor customer service is only one of TM's problems. Just read the various posts in this forum and in the Bandwidth User-2-User section. Or better yet, go to google and search TMnet Sucks. You'd be surprised. Edit: http://www.ahyap.com/blog/category/streamyx-sucks/One of the links posted in the Bandwidth User-2-User section. This post has been edited by ray123: Jan 14 2007, 08:05 PM
