So MS just announced Xbox Play anywhere, which is actually a program which nets buyer a copy of game for both Xbox & PC....does that mean from now on we can purchase those selected titles & will get a Digital code for PC too?? I mean I don't have Xbox one but if I buy Forza Horizon 3 Xbox one disc then will I be able to Play on PC? since I cant buy from MS windows store....

I think it's just the same 'windows store' games platform under your Microsoft account. Meaning if you own a game that is available for both Xbone and Windows 10, you can install on both the operating system

Xbox Play Anywhere. When you buy the game digitally, you can play it on Xbox One and PC (progress is shared) at no additional cost. #XboxE3

They have gift cards that you can buy similar to PSN, you can check local game seller or buy it from Amazon.

may or may not be a good thing for PC gamers because if we want to play multiplayer chances are will need to subscribe to Xbox Live service. even more so if we want to cross-platform play with friends on console and vice-versa.

we don't need to subscribe to make game purchases, only for the MP portion.

something to think about.

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live Gold is not required for the Play Anywhere feature announced today whereby buying an Xbox One game gets you the PC version free or vice versa. You will, of course, need Gold for online multiplayer, including the new Arenas feature.

"Xbox Live Gold isn't required for playing games that are Xbox Play Anywhere other than enjoying online multiplayer with those games on Xbox One," a Microsoft representative told GameSpot today. "Similarly, Xbox Live Gold is needed for playing online multiplayer on Xbox One through Arenas on Xbox Live."

This may tempt / push / influence Sony Playstation to do the same which will make the entire gaming industry more competitive.

Microsoft recognises that Valve and Steam has strong presence in PC market.

Hope to see Gears of Wars and Quantum Break on Steam soon.

Microsoft is now planning to launch Xbox Play Anywhere on September 13th.

The new option will require the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on the PC side, and the summer Xbox One update for the console. Games listed in the Xbox Store will include a Play Anywhere logo to indicate they work with the scheme, and Microsoft has a number of titles arriving later this year that will support Play Anywhere. Here's the full list of supported titles so far:

Gears of War 4
Forza Horizon 3
ReCore
Sea of Thieves
Halo Wars 2
Scalebound
Killer Instinct Season 3
State of Decay 2
Ark: Survival Evolved
Cuphead
We Happy Few
Crackdown 3
