shame it is not the first Quake with Story, and to compete against the like of Overwatch and Battleborn ?! They should compete with Unreal Tournament, steal their limelight as they are still in Alpha stage
nevertheless wait and see

I feel like this is Bethesda and ID wanting to cash in on Overwatch's success. Should have kept it as a basic arena shooter with no abilities if they wanted to use the Quake name.

its a tad bit of a silly choice really, blizzard can release dog poo pickup sim and still make it a success
but this year theres like 3 hero shooters, 1 has already failed spectacularly ,
and Beth is going for a PC market, with only 1 competition in the pure arena shooting scene
Changes are good but not always, this is one of the time where changes is NOT NEEDED. Its like making a F1 racing game but each car has its own power, Quake is not that for f**** sake
“At its core, it’s a free-to-play game,” Willits said, “with the option to buy the Champion Pack and just get in and play with all the Champions. There are a number of Quake players that just want to play their Quake, right? And they are familiar with the business model of our previous games, and they are totally fine. ‘I want to buy the game. I want to start playing. I want to have access to all the Champions.’
Both for-pay and free-to-play players will share the same maps, and compete in the same brackets, Willits said. The only difference will be how they access Champions other than Ranger.
Been playing the beta for the first time now but I've experienced some ping and networking issues. Hits barely register, the lightning gun stops firing at times and warps and stutters happen frequently as of this build. I guess they try to stress test the servers while this is happening but the ping spikes make it unbearable at times.
Same as everyone above. 130+ ping to Korean server means hits don't registee, lightning gun stops shooting (but it's just the sprites, I find if you keep shooting it does register just doesn't show the lightning sprite) and rocket delays due to ping make prediction harder
Still a lot of fun though, got a few top of scoreboard in DM although it's a bit unfair playing 130ms vs. all the Koreans with their <10 ping
Is there some client hosting? I played a few Team DM last night (only played DM before) and had one game where I had 4 ping.
Is this as I was hosting? Or is it a bug? It didn't help as everyone else was lagging and hits didnt register, but I could at least rjump consistently and lightning gun showed all
Why can't we just have Ranger 1v1 in pure "vanilla" old quake Dual DM style?
Also, does anyone like the new railgun system? I dont like having to "power up" the railgun by zooming in - it makes the point of railgun useless, its meant for quick sniping. Not taking the time to zoom in, then find it hard to find the player to get maximum damage
going to come to Early Acces soon on Steam for $30.
yes last i checked there will be SEA servers. will be F2P, but in order to unlock characters i think will need to grind in-game credits. (think cannot keep them if using in-game credits). or unlock permanently using $.
that was last time during alpha. not sure if that policy has changed.
