It's what I do.
leave the earpiece dangling, and clip the mic to your shirt. works fine, and can easily amp up the volume at any time if voice chat is too soft.
i only got a barebone TV and PS4 , don't own any sort of amp. i still owned a soundDSS not sure it will work with ps4 or not.It's what I do.

never plug into it.
i still have the PS3 wireless headset the sound work , not sure the Mic work or not.
i think i lose my dongle.
