Hi all,

I have this hitachi touro hdd for 5 years now. it worked fine all along. but just recently when i plugged it in my computer, it couldnt be detected (even tough the icon pop up on bottom right icon tray). i went to computer management app to check out the issue but the hard drive is not there. and certainly it is not in 'my computer'.

so i would like to ask:

1. if anyone has such issue before? what the cause might be.

2. if it is a serious breakdown, is there any trustworthy shop around PJ area that could possibly fix my hard drive?

thank you in advance.

#1: Check if the disk is in "Create and format partition drives"
#2: If its 5 years old, high chance that it may have died.
#3: WHen was the last time you used the disk? Or do you use it everyday?

What part of PJ area are you in? I'm in PJ too, but PJ is huge. lol.

2. If it's really dead, can i recover the stuffs inside instead?

3. More than 1 month ago. No, it is my backup drive actually.

4. Perdana damansara, but as long as it is in PJ then it's fine for me.

Thank you.

Oo. Then you may have a dead disk. Yea you can try to retrieve the data, but its not guaranteed to work. Of course, the free ones have some downside. But i am not so sure about these softwares as I have not tried them before. You mean, Damansara Perdana? lol

Oo. I am not sure to be honest. I have not done any HDD repair before. Maybe you can send to All IT? xD At Curve. I think. lol. See if their technician can fix the issue, but first they must check for the problem. lol.
