Here is my experience:

I took multiple RM 5 trips using the Visa 6 trip x RM 5 promo that GrabCar is offering.

They suspended my account permanently with no chance to appeal for abuse, fraud, and gaming.

I explain to them I did what I did within the rights and what I know I can do. I beeped different cars for my short RM 5 rides but the Fraud team flagged that as suspicious and currently banning my account for 3 days.

Fast forward to Uber. I took a trip from MV to Raja Chulan, and it was a bad traffic day. They charge me RM 18. After chatting with the customer service, they gave me a RM 10 credit. No questions asked, time to response: <10 minutes.

Now we know the difference between Malaysian and International company.

This isn't a fair comparison to be honest.
2 completely different scenarios.

Unable to change location midway is really loss for Grab.

That's the strategy Grab is going with - it has its pros as well, less uncertainty for the driver.

@HazelHazel

Actually Uber did have similar promos. As a driver, I know that riders break journeys into half to save on the promo code. And they "exploit" the system, so to speak. To manipulate is different than to outright cheat.
