Hi all,
I would like to share on how the latest version of Wechat migration to a new phone.
The new version no longer using their server as backup anymore but just need a Wifi will do.

Pls open your Wechat and do the following:-
1. Go to Setting
2. Go to Chat
3. Go to Chat Log Migration
4. Select Migrate to Another Phone
5. While waiting for the backup process running, install the latest version of Wechat in your new phone.
6. Make sure the new phone using the same Wifi network with your old phone.
7. Once the Old phone backup process is finish, a QR code will be appear.
8. On your new phone, pls log in your Wechat and tap on the '+', then select Scan QR Code.
9. Scan the QR code on your old phone and the process will be running. Do not do anything on both phone phone till the process is 100% completed.

what if i have an old phone which keeps some chat histories , can i migrate it to a new phone? will it wipe off my phones chat logs?

if i trade in my phone. how can i do above steps ?

can backup on the phone?

I never try that but i believe it will just add in the new chats. but wait... once you log in to your old phone and u will see no chat history there anymore isn't it?

is the old phone still in your hand? the steps i shown is for which both phone are in your hand.

atm wechat only can migrate using this step if for phone to phone.
