Anyone kind to give me suggestion also?
Currently i am looking at ASUS K series laptop. Can give some suggestion of other brand laptop of similar specs? (HP, dell, lenovo, toshiba)

ASUS K401
Intel® Core™ i7 6500U Processor,
DDR3L 1600 MHz SDRAM, OnBoard Memory 8 GB
NVIDIA® GeForce® 940M
1TB 5400
1.65 kg
What is the price btw?

My requirement for alternative brand:
i5 is acceptable.
8GB RAM
Need graphic card.
Not too heavy. Maybe less than 2kg?
Solid built keyboard.
Decent cooling system.. not heat up easily.
Dont mind to consider 14" or 15" laptop.
Price less than RM 3k.

Thanks.

it seems there's no laptop that comes with 256gb ssd with that requirements
the easiest way just buy 256gb ssd separately then replace it by yourself

Asus K401U Intel i5-6200U, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GT 940M 2GB, 1TB SATA HDD, 14" FHD, 1.65KG RM2.6k

cheapest 240gb ssd

I am very interested im getting this model too.

https://www.asus.com/my/Notebooks/K501LX/specifications/
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M with 2GB/4GB DDR3 VRAM

Just wan to ask a few questions.
For the same gtx 950m, whats the difference between 2gig vs 4 gig vram?

I see from asus msia that k401 is not on the list.. But only k501. But k401 available in retails right?

just a dumb question:

anyone can advise about comparison of graphic card for GT940, GTX940, GT950, GTX950.

As i understand from some sales person from the store,
GTX is better GT.
So the best graphic will be GTX950, GTX940, then GT 950 and GT 940.

Is this correct?

Reason of asking as i mentioned that i might need to do some 3D modelling and he recommended GTX graphic card as GT graphic card might not be able to handle the heavy usage.
Anyone can verify all these?

Cant google direct comparison between GT and GTX. Mostly i can find is GTX xx vs GTX xx.. which the higher the number, the better it is..
Or simply i am too dumb in googling. cry.gif

Thanks.

Since when ever exist gt 950, gtx 940 these 2 cards ?
*
That's why i say it could be my dumb question.
Sorry if i cause confusion to other forumers here.

But the idea is, i want to know the bigger the number of gc the better or the gc with GT"X" is better than GT.. then only followed by numbers.

Gt 940m not a gaming card. Full stop

it's still can play at high setting, fifa doesn't need a beefy graphic card to run it
unless you talking about AAA games like the witcher 3 then you need at least gtx 960m to play with playable framerate
*
Thought it is not that bad.
But guess i have no choice with limited budget.

Uncertain cheaper, so far manufacturer/ distributor  will sell expensive on new model to protect the old model remaining stocks, and will reveal step by step new models, until clear up all old models tongue.gif

look at china MSI launch.. the price is not friendly
*
ok, sounds like the new model wont be cheap..
and possibly the longer the wait, the old model could be cheaper eventually. (but not cheaper when new model released)

Looking at Asus k401 and HP Pavillion 14 laptop, the both setback is that both have glossy screen which can be annoying sometimes.
Any other suggestion with matt screen? With similar specs in tern of light weight and performance.

Any comment on HP after sales service?

Thanks.

let me tell u i got K501 so K401 should be the similar. Without ssd it sux very slow bootup and not responsive. After i put SSD it flies

Hi,
still remember i asked u some question about k401 in pm. Until now i still havnt buy.. lol.
But anyway, with limited budget, i guess i have to work with that "lower" speed lo. Need the 1 TB storage anyway.
And now it is just the screen specs... glossy vs matted screen.
