Hi,

need some advice on laptop:

1. Preferred Brand: Any
2. Budget: 2k - 2.8k
3. Usage: Art / Graphic Design / minor game
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15" & Full HD needed
5. Other preference:
- easy ram upgrade (need to upgrade to 8GB, saw most acer laptop has warranty sticker on RAM closure, worry will break the warranty)
- dedicated graphic card needed
- Intel 7th generation CPU

I have found Lenovo 510-15IKB seems to suit the requirement, please let me know if there are other choice

Lenovo 510-14IKB priced around rm2400. Asus K501 i searched from lazada is around rm3050.
spec wise, i see the only different is i5-7200U & i7-6500U.

does rm650 top up worth the differences?

in lazada pricing -> http://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?q=asus+k501
all asus K501 listed with price around RM3050 is Nvidia GT940MX, not GTX 950M as listed from asus website.
can share which is the exact model you recommended?
i think the price even higher than rm3050 with the K501's GT940MX version

Lenovo 510 is also using Nvidia GT940MX, since you say compare GPU, i thought you are referring to Asus K501 with GTX950M.
But from my search in lazada malaysia seems to have the Asus K501 with GT940MX which is same with Lenovo 510.

so actually the differences is just the CPU (i5-7200U in Lenovo 510 & i7-6500U in Asus K501).
does it really worth the rm650 price difference? (Lenovo 510-15IKB - RM2400, Asus K501 - RM3050)

or there are other alternative? If no then I guess only Lenovo 510-15IKB is the most value 15" FHD laptop now.

1. Preferred Brand: I suppose Asus, Lenovo and Dell are good choices? (Not really particular hence please advise on this)
2. Budget: 2k
3. Usage: Normal usage with light gaming if possible
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 or 15.6 inches
5. Other notes: No need touch screen, prefer DOS (less bloatware and can save some money here brows.gif ), HDMI port, DVD rom

i am only compare to lenovo 510-15ikb,
Lenovo 510-15IKB 80SV00CBMJ Notebook Silver 15.6" Full HD (i5-7200U, 4GB, 1TB, NV 940MX 4GB, W10H)
lazada - http://www.lazada.com.my/lenovo-510-15ikb-...k-14440156.html

Any other option with same / higher spec but do not exceed rm2.8k budget?
The different for this 510 and asus k501 is i5-7200u vs i7-6500u.
When compare to graphic, i just notice lenovo 510 and asus k501 has same GT940MX but Lenovo have 2GB more graphic ram

But asus k501 sell at rm3050, i personally didnt feel worth to add rm650 compare to lenovo price. Or i have other spec missed out to compare?

----
I just found this, priced at around rm2699, the spec is similar but it has SSD inside, which is very good compare to others.
Acer Aspire F15 F5-573G-53AQ (I5-7200 / 4GB DDR4 / 128GB+1TB / NV940 4GB DDR5 / 802.11ac / 15.6" FHD LED / W10)

question is, I remember I saw Demo unit from lowyat all acer laptop has warranty sticker on the screw, which means upgrading RAM will void the warranty?

Hi all, need some advice.

1. Preferred Brand: Dell, Lenovo, Gigabyte, MSI
2. Budget: Up to 6K
3. Usage: Work, photoshop and light gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13 or 14
5. Good to have:
- USB type c
- HDMI
- Backlit keyboard (very important)

I need something that is portable and maybe future proof. I know future proof is impossible but at least something that can lasts me 2-3 years. I'm thinking of XPS 13 but unsure how reliable is it? Anyone else has any recommendation? TIA

I guess there are still few choices around. The one that i am scouting around the pricing as the Lenovo 510 is the HP Pavilion 15-AU168TX. Personally i would pick the lenovo in the past. But after having a lenovo previously. I think this round i might give a try on the HP Pavilion. smile.gif
