SOLD!!!

Did you know that TST (Tau Sama Tau) was actually a registered trademark for an Australian Brandy by the then famous TOLLEY, distributed by Macalister & Co Ltd which had branches in KL, Ipoh, Penang, Port Swettenham (now Port Kelang) and Kuching ?

Well, now you know. Apparently the 'Malaysia Boleh' spirit was thriving way back then. (see ad below that appeared in the Feb 1963 issue of the now-iconic MSVCR.)

Twas also the year when the French Simca was the rave, touting itself as 'Some Car' and some car it was, claiming to be a pioneer family car with sports-car performance powered by the then-innovative 'Super Rush' engine which boasted the unique five-bearing crankshaft, found it seems, in 'some kind of sports-cars'. Proudly distributed by Cycle And Carriage.

Malayan Motors was also in the thick of 'motor distributor' action with the Wolseley 16/60 'a luxurious saloon of practical dimensions capable of high performance with safety, representing exceptional high value for money.
1963 also saw the ultra-slim Longines 'making dreams come true' with its FLAGSHIP automatic with Maclaine Watson (Imports) Ltd as sole agents.

Not forgetting twas also a time when SHELLUBRICATION, asked discerning motorists, "Has Your Car Got Everything ???" (see ad below)

Front cover shows HRH Prince Richard, son of Duke of Gloucester after examining Henry Stonor's Rolls-Royce Twenty.
Prince Richard, an extremely keen Vintagent, recognized the Rolls as a Twenty, from behind, without any difficulty. Even the most experienced, sometimes confuse the car with a Phantom or a Silver Ghost at quick glance from the rear.
It was also interesting to note that his father, the Duke (no, nothing to do with the DUKE highway in Ampang) had used this very Rolls during his Malayan Tour in 1928. A time when there was no corrupt politicians feeding on the people via the vile GST.

RM1500/- per copy original.

SOLD!!!!
