I am currently a subscriber to Maxis Broadband HSDPA - WBB 5GB Peak/15GB Off Peak plan.

Is Maxis planning to re-look at the plan, inline with the revision of Maxis One packages? Abolishing the peak/off-peak periods wld be welcomed for most subscribers perhaps.

Anyone knows?

even if somebody knew, this kind of thing is consider 'OSA' in the company (not only maxis). you leak this kind of information only when you want to get another job.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

Thank you for your feedback but at this moment there is no news in the plans for broadband yet. Your feedbacks are valuable and we have saved it into our voice of customers for future planning.

TQ

Well well well............seems like @Maxis is short changing their own customers again. went to Maxis Gardens, and noticed the "new/limited time" broadband plan; RM79 for 7GB (peak) + 21GB (off-peak). inquired if current subscribers would be "upgraded" automatically but the reply was very saddening :

"No there wld be no upgrading of current subscribers to the new/limited time plan. instead, u can cancel ur current subscription and sign up to the new/limited time plan. we'll even throw in the MiFi dongle/device for u to signup."

......and guess what....if u decide to cancel the old one n signup, u'll be contracted for another 2 years!!

well done maxis. u made my decision simpler this time around. i felt cheated.

Not so sure. In fact, never tried to find out. Thought it was sim dependent?

The answer is it is an unlocked device but the speed is locked at 5Mbps.

Wanted to downgrade my 48gb plan to 28gb plan due to abnormal data drain.

But instead i found out that the 48b and 28gb plan is now only for business.

For normal user only left 3gb, 8gb and 20gb.

I guess this kinda explain why my data drain has been weird since march/april.

hmm... so, how to 'unlock' the speed?
but before that, how to know the speed is locked? or is it (in this case, 5Mbps) really the other provider speed?

thanks

Yeah. I brought my Maxis Broadband to Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan and I always get 5Mbps.
