Hi, i wanted to install flooring at the kitchen ( 180 sqft). Which one is recommended? laminate or vinyl?

I also have cats at home and anti scratch is my top priority. I wanted to also install for the stairs( 23 steps) and the whole 1st floor ( 620 sqft).
