Hi liang8888
i am studying about laminate flooring now, want to do it for 1st floor and staircase in my new house... so what's the difference between 8mm and 12mm? is 8mm sufficient actually for residential? do i feel it when i walk on them, 12mm feel more like solid wood? also, will you "flatten" the floor before lay the laminate? cus i feel that my floor is not totally "flat"... Actually my house is under renovation now, but due to budget constraint, might have to skip this laminate flooring... so question, how trouble is it to do the lamination after i move in let say 3 years? with all the furniture in eg bedframe? Thanks |

Dear Mjtcc,
The different 8mm and 12mm laminate flooring.12mm board sure feel solid than 8mm.inovarfloor 8mm is ac4.12mm is ac5.there are make laminate surface more stiff, anti scratch and durable. But 8mm board is enough for residential.because without high heel shoes. You may ask contractor to done the screeding work.we are not professional to do that.if your floor is only some uneven.you are suggested apply rubber underlay.it cost rm1.05/sf.it is sufficiently more solid when you step on it. After staying in house, there are some charges for shifting funiture work.olso feel dusty when the installation work in progress. Whatapps me on 0122701422 for anything and anytime.thank-you |

I'm planning to DIY for while 1st floor n staircase.
I'm concern about if i DIY for staircase as well. I just need to install for the top part only (treads) (and riser remain cement surface n paintedwithwhite paint). Is there any difficulty to install on staircase? My existing staircase design is both left m right are covered by wall. My existing staircase is parquet. Can i remain the Parquet n its nosing? Can just glue the laminate nosing on existing parquet nosing? Also do i need to have expansion gap for stairs? |
