I swim in 3k with my fren. The water there seems ok to me.

There are also many swimming lessons there for kids. And often i will see many kids swimming up and down, and they are all very good young swimmers. If the water is really dirty, Im sure the kids will get infections right? Since they are kids and are more vulnerable to infections.

Ya. Thats what it looks like to me also.

So Im sure if a swimming team can swim there, the water must be at least reasonably clean. They definitely will not swim in a pool with algae floating around on it.

Kids just want to play, they don't really bother with the water. Parents are more likely to pay attention to water than their kids lor. laugh.gif

Last time I go bukit jalil, the water there are clean, but toilet is somewhat nasty la... But for washing and changing, should be enough. For guys la.. haha. Not sure about ladies room.
*
Some parents were there during the swimming lessons itself, supervising their kids and probably also waiting there for them finish their lesson. Afterall, it was their parents who sends them there for lessons in the first place so they would not have done that if the water there is dirty.

You can just buy antifog and apply it on the goggles yourself.

Speedo products can be found in Royal Sporting House.. can't remember if that's the exact name, but something like that.
*
where to get this antifog thing? my goggles always get foged up.

Regarding anti-fog.
I seldom use the anti-fog liquid for my google. Before start swimming, I'll put some water inside google and wear it.
When I'm swimming, water will clear the fog. The amount of water should not be too much as it may contact eye.
Just my 2cent... Hope it help smile.gif
*
i havent try tht b4... must try it, thks for the tip... but must really put very little water lah...

but my goggles hav this problem tht sometimes it will masuk water

slowly bro.. swimming requires practice..
but once u got the correct technique, u wont forget it..
it's like riding bicycle.. it takes time.. but ur body will remember the process forever..
observe how people swim, then try urself..  nod.gif

owh yeah, regarding the fog problem,
i'm facing the same problem with my new arena goggle..
50bucks goggle, i thought should be ok..
but only after few times using it, then the fogs already showing up..
i bought the antifog liquid, but no effect..
after 10minutes under water, the lens start fogging again..
*
i think u must look particularly for those with 'anti-fog', and surely those will cost more.

Nowadays sports equipments in this country is getting more n more expensive. I also would expect it to be anti-fog if i pay rm50 for 1 pair of goggles. Have to be really careful when comes to buying things here.

How much is the antifog liquid...? Mayb u might wanna bring back tht antifog liquid to where u buy it from and return it, unless u bought it for a very cheap price.

i heard u can make ur own antifog liquid if u hav the right ingredients.... anywan tried tht b4...?

There's a speedo outlet in Pavillion. They have quite a nice selection of goggles and swimwear, just bought a new goggle there. tongue.gif Not sure if they still have the same lasting antifog coating as before. (I find that their goggle has the best antifog coating, but that was few years ago) Maybe I'll comment here after few times trying.

Anyway, the water method only last for 2-3 minutes, after that the fog will return. I used to try that. Other option is to get those baby bathgel, anti-tears type. Pour some inside the lens, spread it with finger thoroughly, then put it under running water, but don't wash all the bathgel away, leave some behind. You should be able to see a coating of soap/water wet over the inner lens. You may need to try this a few times to get a nice coating.

Try to avoid water contact as much as possible during your swimming session, it should last for several laps, or throughout the session. smile.gif
*
thx for the tips...

will check out the speedo in pavilion 2mr or monday...

will also try the baby bath thing... but the anti fog coat formula tht i search from the internet involves using vinegar... but they said its meant for car wind shield.... dunno if it works for goggles.....

i thot boardshorts only for beach?

i guess its because for safety reasons because i think maybe swimming pools have something like suction inlets or such? where if u r wearing something baggy or if u have long hair, may accidently get sucked into a hole?

I used to love swimming last time until I got hooked up with running.Yes,I'm a running addict. tongue.gif I'm not those professional swimmers, state swimmer yada yada yada but I swim for leisure only.I never received any formal swimming instruction la,learned it from dad when I was a kid.So technically,I can swim but I'm not a competitive swimmer.Lately, thinking of picking up swimming again, particularly I wanna brush up my swimming skill, seriously in need of brushing up my swimming skill especially free style. My fav swimming spot is at bkt jalil swimming pool-it's within 10 min walking distance frm my apartment plus it's an indoor pool which means, rain or shine,I can still swim though the water gets really freezing cold during rainy days. How many of you guys and gals swim at bkt jalil pool?
*
bkt jalil got indoor pool??? i thot dun haf...

wats the opening hours there....? wanna meetup for a swim?

im a swimming noob btw

Yeah,it's an olympic size indoor pool. There are 3 pools all together but only 1 is opened to the public. However,be warned, the water is kinda chill during this rainy season.

The opening hours:

Mon-Thurs
2-4.30pm
5-7.30pm
8-10.30pm

Fri
Free entry but the opening hours is shortened to 1hr 30 mins
3.30-5pm
5.30-7pm
p/s I'm not really sure of fri opening hours,b'cause I rarely swim on fri
I wouldn't recommend you to go on fri b'cause the pool is very crowded with school kids playing around.
Sat-Sun and Public Holiday
9-11.30am
12-2.30pm
3-5.30pm
6-8.30pm

Currently,I'm not in KL,I'll be back by next week.If you wanna meet up for a swim,I guess I can only make it starting frm next week.
haha swimming noob????I'm not good either, that's why I wanna brush up my swimming skill.Hey,you have other swimming kakis around???
*
thx for the info...

u sure its indoor....? anyway the place i swim (3k) also chilly water during rainy season cuz its also indoor... so sort of used 2 it liaw

my only swimming kaki is my fren who taught me how 2 swim... but he now chasing 4 year end sales target so i swim alone nowadays... we usually swim in 3k

Shah alam aquatic center is pusat akuatik darul ehsan if I'm not mistaken. It's behind tesco or somewhere near there.
*
yes. shah alam aquatik centre = pusat aquatik darul ehsan. i've been there last weekend. but i didnt swim simply because their 12pm - 2.15pm session for indoor pool is not opened to public on weekends. in this time frame they only have outdoor pool and its not somewhat shaded so its too sunny.

can anyone here confirm that the bkt jalil indoor pool's 12pm-2.30pm session on weekends is opened to public? cuz this time frame is the best time for me to swim, and i only want indoor pool cuz i dun want 2 get sunburned.

however the pusat aquatik darul ehsan has 2 indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool. for the indoor pools, one is for diving and one is for the swim racing (is it called racing?). anywan here knows which wan is opened for public? cuz from wat i see the racing pool's floor very dirty... dun know is it just that they never wash on that day or is it all the while that dirty. But however the diving pool seems ok
