does swimming in freestyle require more energy than breaststroke?

I pant more when swimming in freestyle compare to breaststroke, can't swim more than 25m in freestyle, my legs have to paddle like mad to avoid from sinking, I know it's not really the correct way sweat.gif

Ehhh~ I not sure how much, but need membership. Just opposite Science center. Nearby there
Hi Phak,

I just start learning swimming, since april this year. Starting I am just like you, 25m swim will be killing me, panting badly.

Have a look of this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJpFVvho0o4

This is how smoothly freestyle swim, relaxing. Total Immersion swimming videos are available in youtube, nice source to learn. I learn all from there. Freestyle for me is like kacang putih now  rclxm9.gif

in freestyle, the better paddle style is it only paddle using the legs below the knee, or utilizing the thigh as well?

How deep is the Precinct 6 pool?
Plan to go on the weekend, but afraid it'll be too deep for a newbie me.
*
from 1.4m to 2m

at the both edges as well as the end side of the deeper pool region, there got a lifted up surface which you can step onto it, after you step on it, your head will be above the water surface

B Jalil water is okay, but the toilet/bath room stinks, and occasionally can see guys bathing with body suit on, without closing the door doh.gif, the other cons about this pool is it is crowded at many times, eg. always have to make space for the swimming classes for kids esp weekends.

Putrajaya lakeside precinct 6 pool has the best bath room and toilet, and cheapest RM2 entrance fee, pool water is as good as B Jalil, pros is there is much lesser people compare to other pools in KL, cons is that sometimes at night, some kids tend to play water rather than swimming

I only go to these 2 pools currently, anyone interested to find kaki in these 2 places can PM me, I swim noob noob only notworthy.gif

do you guys realize that nowadays our cars are not allowed to go inside the car park in front of the pool in Bukit Jalil, and have to park it near the guard post outside

the guards said that only cars with special sticker can get in, but I saw alot cars without any stickers can be seen at the car park inside doh.gif

now is that the guard practicing double standard thesedays doh.gif
