Hi all I'm new here. Just saw this thread  tongue.gif Erm well about me...I've represented both Selangor and Malaysia in swimming before. Represented Selangor in countless national age groups and MSSMs and also 2 SUKMAs. Represented Malaysia in 2 SEA Age Groups, ASEAN Schools and ASIAN Schools Championships before. Quitted for studies after entering college. Have not touched water (swimming pool) in like 3 - 4 years lol. Anyone from my batch in this thread that I potentially know or knows me ?  laugh.gif I see you guys are having a gathering too, would like to join if there is one if that is ok. Kinda miss swimming a little  nod.gif

Could you coach us? Where do you usually, or rather use to swim? drool.gif

@smallbug: Would like to but unfortunately I can't at the moment haha. Too busy with classes sad.gif I usually swim in a couple of places last time. Basically in mostly in Kelab Syabas (near the huge A & W in PJ although this pool is closed already), the Selangor state swimming pool (the one near Kelab Shah Alam Selangor in Shah Alam) and the pool in Kelana Jaya. Only go to Bukit Jalil ocasionally for centralised training when it is near international meets. tongue.gif

@ALPS2008: Bro the younger the better. I started when I was 5 years old but generally don't have to start so early also can lol. The best age to learn i'd say is basically age 10 or younger. At that age the body is not developed or haven't started developing I'd say its easier to do stroke correction. Learning the styles is actually not hard. The hard part is having the right stroke and doing it correctly and effectively. Older than that is not to say you can't but it is harder because as you get older your body, muscles, bones etc tend to get stiffer. And trust me if you are doing a certain style correctly, (in my case butterfly because I'm a butterfly specialist last time tongue.gif ) You will move much faster without having to put in much effort which of course you will feel its less tiring and you can last longer nod.gif If around Subang I'd have to say the only place is 3K smile.gif although the pool in Kelana Jaya (not a sheltered pool though) and the Selangor state pool in Shah Alam do offer training for beginners as well.

Choose a place first.. then find out the shift times.. usually these public pool areas.. not open from morning till night one.. got break in between... for me , I would prefer night. Less hot.

oh er..... actually i mean about the gathering sweat.gif
I don't think want to have a gathering at the pool, may be at one cafe where all of us can sit down and get to know each other
I am thinking on either Saturday afternoon or night. Any opinion? smile.gif

How about a meet up on either this Saturday night or following Saturday night at ss2?
Working on that and hopefully get to meet up with most of you guys.

Or any other suggestions are welcome! smile.gif

Hi, maybe you can mention what years you competed.

I've swam for Malaysia between 1984 and 1992. I competed in the SEA Age Groups from 1984 to (I think) 1992. I just checked the results of the one that just finished in Thailand a couple of weeks ago, and my only standing record survived another year, and is now 19 years old flex.gif I've also competed in the Asian Age Groups, Asia & Pacific Age Groups, and SEA Games. I think I'm a bit old, so I think it might be unlikely that I would know you. You might have heard of me, though... Maybe... Coincidentally, I'm also from Selangor, so i represented Selangor in all the local school to national competitions except for one year which I think I swam for FT/WP.
