QUOTE(casey83 @ Mar 17 2009, 12:04 PM) I think leaning butterfly with fins is much easier. I went 5 times into the pool and watched other people doing it, also looked up youtube. With fins? That would be very fast. I never tried that coz I don't have fins anyway..hahahaha..I do a wave motion-like butterfly which is not that fast and not extremely slow. Too slow and you'll sink, too fast and you'll tired after 25m. My entrance kick is harder to initiate the wave. Arm entrance is relaxed and just enough to stay on the surface. Dive the head a bit and glide a bit. Exit kick is minimal to conserve energy. I could do a few laps this way. |

Butterfly can even do 3 kick - 1 pull up if your upper body not so much strength. Or do it slow like what you said - big kick, little kick, then come up |

QUOTE(casey83 @ Mar 19 2009, 01:53 PM) Yeah - fast but need lil more energy to kick. I never liked 3 kicks. Even if 2 kicks also can be fast. Actually, you don't really need that much upper body strength. I did a relaxed one and it still would bring my head up with minimal leg assist. Try it, try to use your hip to thrust up and down instead of relying on your knee.Butterfly can even do 3 kick - 1 pull up if your upper body not so much strength. Or do it slow like what you said - big kick, little kick, then come up |

Same here...hahaha...breastroke which can kill you even after doing 1 or 2 laps. Then freestyle. After that, I swim daily around 2km before I switched to butterfly..Wow...400m butterfly non-stop...and you said you're just starting butterfly? I don't think many of us here, although can swim quite ok, couldn't do a 400m continuously. And how to get a 2 side line which can have a sexy body look????? I you wanna know if any part of your body were used in your swimming, just touch them. If it is warm even in the cold water, then the muscle groups there succumbed to workouts. If cold = nothing. I swam all styles, but find that swimming alone can't really help you in getting a flat stomach. Abdominals are divided into upper, lower abdominals, intercostals (spelling) and obelique (spelling). All of these has different sets of exercises to tone them. 2 side lines? Try to hold a long stick, legs shoulder apart and twist your body on the waist. Maintain your vision in front. Only swing your body using waist. During each swing, tense your stomach and at the end of the swing, press hard and then release, not fully, but still tensed. In time, you'll have slim waist. And what is operation hour for 3k and also KJ sport complex? Smallbug! when are we swimming again? What happened to Sky and Axley? |
