I have high hopes on this series, as 1, I'm a fan of it's manga, and 2nd, the J-Dorama adaptation was really good.
Basically, this tells teh story of Chiaki Shinichi, a student of a music academy and his (mis)adventures with his Kouhai, Noda Megumi. One of the funniest series ever, and unlike many shoujo, there are no all male harem wanting 1 girl story like in Ouran Koukou crap. And did I mention they all do classical music like Beethoven and Mozart? Definately a plus OP Sequence     1st ep       |

after watching the drama n falling in love with it, i've watched the first ep of the anime just now.. interesting to say the least. but i cant help comparing with the drama

It's already in my list since the start of last season.
Wanted to watch the live-action, but the torrent damn slow. No subs too, damn. As for the manga, i will get it ASAP, hopefully b4 the anime is released. |

nodame is directed by the same person who directed honey & clover, kenichi kansai. he was also involved in the nodame jdrama, so expect some great things to come out from this series.

this anime is very similar 2 beck mongorian chop squad...
storyline also very similar... main character wants 2 go to foreign country 2 chase his dreams... beck also same thing... well dis anime is ochestra... beck is rock music... |

Did anyone notice that Nodame's voice actress is Kawasumi Ayako?
She did the role of another pianist Nomura Miu in the anime "Piano", and she actually composed & played the intro piano piece for this anime. Ayako also started playing the piano since early chilhood and I bet that the Nodame's piano piece is played by her too. Her silly song with the teacher is so cuuuute. Combined it with Seki Tomokazu's "Sargent Sagara" dicipline, this anime is a riot! Yeah, with the classical music this anime is made of win and gold! |

Man this anime is really too nice. Stay up till 1 am yesterday to watch as awaiting it to finish download. Anyone know where to buy the dvd of it cz I cant find it in Sg Wang and the torrent is super slow.. or to say 0 kpbs download for Jdrama for this show. I dont mind spending money to watch it as heard from ppl say its too nice and season 2 is coming out soon too..

but of coz not 100% follow la coz they also want to give the audience some new things btw, Jdorama only cover up to ep9 of manga only... coz Nodame Cantabile manga juz till ep16 and havent finish yet... dunno where the anime will cover up... |

The protagonist called Nodame in the comics is based on a woman called Noda Megumi. A photo of a woman (real Noda Megumi) playing the piano in a dirty room was posted on a BBS Ninomiya managed. She became the model for the character Noda Megumi. She teaches piano in Fukuoka now.

Just watched episode 7.
Chiaki didn't wear the S-Oke t-shirt during the concert. I can't stand it, i am just toooooooo damn used to the J-Dorama version. I just find faults here and there, DESPITE knowing that the J-Dorama differs from the manga which the anime takes after. How could i forget to mention the ED. I love Crystal Kay's voice. IMO Code Geass is too messed up, it feels like Sunrise are trying too hard to surprise us viewers. I like anime that makes me feel good, and Nodame Cantabile is doing exactly that for me |

I enjoyed both the anime and the live action versions. IINM, the anime is truer to the manga and fleshes out some of the minor plot points e.g. on why Stressemann dislikes Viera
Also, great voice acting from Kawasumi Ayako, with her "gyabo" "iyaan" etc The live action is good too. Great pacing and plot progression. The biggest plus points of the live action: Ueno Juri and the music scenes Watching her play really makes you feel the joy of music, esp the scenes of Nodame and Chiaki playing together. Understandably these scenes would be difficult to reproduce regularly in the anime because of budget constraints |

The biggest plus points of the live action: Ueno Juri and the music scenes Watching her play really makes you feel the joy of music, esp the scenes of Nodame and Chiaki playing together. Understandably these scenes would be difficult to reproduce regularly in the anime because of budget constraints Thanks for pointing out there is " live action " version, i am gonna watch soon.
