When I receive the newly-approved UOB VOX Card in any UOB Bank, I should perform the following:

1. Set desired statement date.
2. Subscribe to e-Statement (and cancel hardcopy statement sent via post).
3. Set SMS transaction limit.
4. Ensure that TAC is sent to my handphone.
5. Setup the pin number for the credit card.
6. Setup access to UOB Internet Banking website (https://www.uob.com.my/uob/index.jsp), so that I can view credit card transaction, and pay credit card bill.

Is there anything else I should do as well?

Thanks for the advice. smile.gif

For UOB credit card bill payment, the costs of using IBG and IBFT from other banks are RM 0.11 and RM 0.53 respectively, right?

U can refer here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1985221/+1240.

AFAIK, AMbank, HLB n SCB provides free IBG. SCB's IBFT is free too.

Thanks for your reply. rclxms.gif

I have the wrong idea that using IBG and IBFT to pay credit card bills is more expensive, than using IBG and IBFT for fund transfer to saving or current account.

If pay Streamyx bills through UOB PayOnline, should I pay to Telekom Malaysia or TMNet?
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 14 2016, 02:14 PM)
I believe TMNet. You can just pay via TM Portal, also entitled for cash back.

The account number of My TMNet Streamyx (bundled with TM fixed line) starts with D. Just to confirm, I should select Telekom Malaysia, in UOB PayOnline, right?

Check your bill. Whether printed on the bill is TM logo or Streamyx logo. Pay according to the logo on your bill.

Thanks. rclxms.gif My bill shows TM logo, so I just select Telekom Malaysia.

Further questions about UOB Payonline:
1) For Streamyx bill, TNB bill and Maxis bill paid via UOB Payonline, should I remove all hyphens when I key in the account number?

2) What is the minimum amount that can be paid for three bills, via UOB Payonline?

Thanks again. smile.gif

For UOB VOX Card, does anyone have any idea on how UOB detects whether the credit card transaction is an online transaction or not? Does UOB use POSMODE?

For these 2 payment methods:
- swiping credit card at Ambank credit card terminal, in Caring pharmacy branch
- purchasing cash vouchers at Caring Pharmacy eStore

Both of these 2 payment methods have the same MCC, namely MCC 5912 - Drug Stores and Pharmacies.

of course both transactions will be under 5912 since both are used for caring pharmacy. there is no online category. online is just a payment mode. so it can be under online and pharmacy/grocery/mobile/etc category at the same time.
*
I agree with you that MCC cannot be used to detect online transactions. smile.gif

Still, there has to be some other code that is used by UOB to detect online transactions. Is the code somewhat similar to POSMODE (used by CIMB Cash Rebate MasterCard), so that UOB would know that it is an online transaction?

For those who opt for eStatement, is your eStatement being sent to your e-mail account, or do you need to download eStatement from UOB Internet Banking website?

Thanks, fruitie.

Sigh, in this aspect, UOB Internet Banking system is outdated, as it cannot automatically send the credit card eStatement, direct to our e-mail account. It is kind of inconvenient to us.

Yes, you are correct, fruitie. smile.gif

If we use UOB VOX Card purely for online transactions (as it should be, to gain online cashback), we are not getting any SMS transaction alert at all.

Yeah, we do get OTP showing the merchant name and transaction amount. However, SMS transaction alert is the finalized SMS, showing the actual amount charged to our credit card, by the intended merchant.

For Maybank credit cards, we do get SMS transaction alert for even online transactions.

I guess that there are pros and cons for credit cards from different banks. hmm.gif

VOX Card: Minimum online spend of RM 50, 5% cashback

YOLO Card: Minimum online spend of RM 500, 4% cashback

Definitely, YOLO card is harder to use, since minimum spending is so much higher, with lower cashback.

Sigh, I personally do not spend that much on online transactions, so YOLO card does not suit me at all.

I hope that UOB can keep existing features of VOX card, but the change is inevitable.

For those who do not qualify for Public Bank Visa Signature card, which credit card will give online cashback for TNB and TMNet Streamyx bill?

Looking at the eligible list, it appears that CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard does not give online cashback for TNB and TMNet Streamyx bill, right?

Yes for PosOnline, no for UOBPayOnline.
*
So, we can use CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard to pay TNB and TMNet Streamyx bill, via PosOnline, to gain 5% online cashback, right?

But, we need to pay 2.12 % service charge (with GST inclusive) for using PosOnline, thus the effective cashback is slightly less than 3%.

Sigh, the combination of VOX and UOBPayonline is a far better option, that we all will miss. sad.gif

No more benefit or cash rebate for VOX card start on 1 October 2016.

Just to confirm, we still can spend up to RM 1000 on online transactions for September 2016, using VOX card, and the last 5% cashback for September 2016 online transactions (up to RM 50) will be credited around the end of October 2016. Correct?

When UOB call us to convert VOX card into Yolo card, what should we answer? Just say yes and accept their offer? confused.gif

Yolo - you only live once.

But, bank will try to "cheat" us many times. bangwall.gif

For those who are not eligible for PB Visa Signature card, the only replacement for VOX card (in term of online cashback) is CIMB Cash Rebate Card, right?

CIMB have border charge, so if u buy oversea payment gateway with myr currency, u need pay extra 0.8%.
But u do have 5% capped rm30 still.

Yeah, we agree that CIMB Cash Rebate card is inferior to VOX card. But, what choice do we have, especially for those who are not eligible for PB Visa Signature Card? cry.gif

So, I have to accept the worse choice.

there are two options to pay using Tesco online....another option is pay online immediate after you confirmed order on Tesco online....
So, I just worry plug and pay do not entitle 5%....

i never try pay immediate since i worried my orders could be less or replaced (diff value) upon delivery, so "charge later" is better. else, Tesco need to do refund, which is tedious and long.

This question is not just for cybpsych, and triple c.

Does anyone have information on the MCCs, so that we will know whether to use grocery cashback credit card or online cashback credit card?

MCC for immediate payment on Tesco online: ?

MCC for MPOS brought by Tesco delivery guy: ?

some answers buried in closed threads smile.gif

hlb wise: mcc 5411 grocery
mbb ikhwan: mcc 5411 grocery
cimb cr: mcc 5411 grocery (not online) <-- paid immediate and paid later
pbb vs: mcc 5411 grocery (not online)
uob vox: online category
essentially, tesco online is on MCC 5411 Grocery, regardless of payment mode
*
Thank you very much, cybpsych.

To conclude:

Immediate payment on Tesco online: can use either grocery cashback credit card or online cashback credit card.

MPOS brought by Tesco delivery guy: better to use grocery cashback credit card, since we are unsure whether we can get cashback for online cashback credit card, or not.

Normally, the cashback can be used to reduce the outstanding balance, and we need to pay slightly less to make full payment of credit card bill.

Sigh, since we stop swiping the card on October 2016, the 5% online cashback credited by 30th October (for September online transactions) will be oddly left in the credit card. By 30th October, some of us would have made payment for entire September online transactions.

So, has anyone tried asking UOB to transfer the VOX cashback (credited by 30th October) to other UOB card, or UOB CASA?
