Since when one needs to pay for applying a card. Always check their website for more information. All those PrivMiles, Preferred Plat la, they asked me to take, I said no thanks. Not interested at all. Even the PPL access is so miserable. I'm better off with other cards.

First year AF always free for new cardholder.. But that's not a good card to hold though.. Not worth paying that.. Unless they give u good sign up bonus.. Then can hold for 6 months n cancel it
