Guys,

Just a quick question, will the tweeter gets spoil when it gets on direct sun when place on dashboard after a year or so?

My both DLS and Domination tweeters recently just spoiled ... 1 side working, the other side doesn't work symptoms as such examples.

Just wondering if there's any tweeters that has Sun protected shield .... lol

Need ur input.

Thanks.

Car speakers are made to endure heat, sun and some moisture. If you're running active, you might want to check on the crossover setting. Higher rms input compared to the originally intended also can cause the tweeter coil to burn. Sometimes it's just pure luck. Nothing last forever.

Thx guys for the input.

Yesterday and today both tweeters are running without any issue. I wonder whats the cause. Should i say the tweeter coil is burning and should soon be dead?

If the crossover issue, will the mid-bass get affected as well? Cause my mid-bass is kicking without an issue.

Thanks.

High watts doesnt kill the voice coil... not enough watts does....

Midd bass are generally less affected due to the wide frequency ramge it can play....

Gotta vouch you with that....

I always hear people comment on higher watts killing the speakers yet no one speaks about under-powering the individual drivers....

50W x 4 is more like 15-18W RMS.

With that rating, to power OEM speakers probably will be sufficient but for aftermarket components, I doubt it'll make you drivers sing....

Fot HU 50w is 50w.. not like chapalang 10000watt power amp..
If 50w is not enough to drive a tweeter.. than i dont know what to say.. some more you will waste clean tweeter sound from HU and distorted it with overdrive power amp..

50W rated on a headunit is more like 15W to 20W RMS which I reiterate again, might be suitable for an OEM tweeter/mid but not aftermarket drivers.

Basically its a fairly simple setup.

HU > 4 Channel AMP > Front-Channel goes to Tweeter and Mid-Bass through Cross-Over
> Rear-Channel bridge to Woofer

Right now, both my left right tweeters are working fine. When it doesn't work, if i hit the pillar or open close the tweeter pod, then my tweeter got sound and sometimes it doesn't at all until next day.

So i quite curious if its got to do with cable or tweeter coil.

Thx guys for the help. Appreciate your response.

could be a loose wiring bro.. last time had similar problem whereby left speaker sound will gone if drive in bumpy road, thought of amp problem and went to replace the amp.. but it was loose wiring from speaker..

since our malaysia road is uneven, cables might tend to loose if didnt fix properly..
