U-Mobile cheap they say. U-Mobile good they say.

--snipped--

So no, U-Mobile is not better than its competitors. If anything, because they are offering cheap prices, they are more cutthroat.
And at least for the first 2 months, I'm paying more than if I had stayed with Maxis. confused.gif
if they force auto data roaming on us consumers and dont allow us to switch off from telco side, it tell us only one thing:

all msian telcos are same same...busuk smile.gif)

To be fair to them, I think there might be a problem with my phone.

BUT then again, before I started working in Singapore and came here with roaming turned off on my Maxis number with the same phone, I never had such a problem.
So it could be on their end too.

I just thought they would show more compassion this time around because its a first for me. I even offered that, moving forward if there was such a charge again, I'd bear the cost.

But no.... they must have that RM50 for 0.041MB used rclxms.gif

to be fair to consumers, they should at least allow disabling data roaming from telco end.

there are too many ways you can get charged for data roaming based on the combination of host telco, phone, roaming network.
you may be lucky with your maxis number in singapore but many others were not.

malaysian telcos are also notorious for their voicemail service. the telco will remember the last location your number was switched on. then any incoming calls that are redirected to your voicemail will be charged IDD rates to that country if the last location was overseas. imagine you went to japan, turned on your phone briefly to receive tac, then off your phone and landed at klia and before you got the chance to turn on the phone, you got missed calls...and *bingo* you would get IDD charges for calls to japan smile.gif

and there is absolutely no reason for them to charge IDD rates as the calls go directly into their system and dont traverse any overseas network.

Visit centre. Pay 10.60 for nano sim. Dont cut the old sim yourself, as i think micro has different thickness than nano.

i visited berjaya times sq last month and they said they don't have stock for nano... rclxub.gif

if you look careful, the nano portion is slightly depressed.

Wow if this is really possible, that means I can keep the repaid SIM from being cancelled with just RM1.50 every 60 days?
Can anyone confirm?
*
should be rm1.70 because they deduct 20sen from receiver too?

Yes, I agree for this statement.
Currently only maxis/Hotlink and Webe has available for TriSIM one.

Since maxis and Webe can implement this, why other telco such as U Mobile, DG and Celcom cannot implement this?
This will save cost and time, not need keep replacement SIMcard between nano SIM and mini/micro SIM.

I think now other telco think that replacement SIMcard also can gain some profit, so don't use TRI-cut form of SIMcard. shakehead.gif
Some-more replacement of nanoSIM card not cheap at all, cost around RM20-25 (if I'm not wrong). puke.gif

I believe nowadays this nanoSIM cost not so expensive at all already. If around RM3 ~ RM10 max, that should be acceptable for us.. (Assuming this original produce SIM cost with high MOQ each only RM1)
*
umobile is the worst. you can still get nano for free from other telcos. umobile insists on you paying rm10.60.

well, for being the cheapest telco, they need to make up for their lost revenue by other means smile.gif

glad that the 20 sen is not deducted from the recipient's main balance.
