if they force auto data roaming on us consumers and dont allow us to switch off from telco side, it tell us only one thing:

to be fair to consumers, they should at least allow disabling data roaming from telco end.

there are too many ways you can get charged for data roaming based on the combination of host telco, phone, roaming network.
you may be lucky with your maxis number in singapore but many others were not.

malaysian telcos are also notorious for their voicemail service. the telco will remember the last location your number was switched on. then any incoming calls that are redirected to your voicemail will be charged IDD rates to that country if the last location was overseas. imagine you went to japan, turned on your phone briefly to receive tac, then off your phone and landed at klia and before you got the chance to turn on the phone, you got missed calls...and *bingo* you would get IDD charges for calls to japan

and there is absolutely no reason for them to charge IDD rates as the calls go directly into their system and dont traverse any overseas network.

you have to contact customer service to activate lte. happened to me before, sent sms to activate but didnt get lte still. had to reach out to cs. wasted 5sen.

i used twitter. there is a number that you can call from the ussd menu.

umobile is known to be buggy

*118# and look for customer service. or google it.

power prepaid free 1gb registration deadline extended till 31 december.

was hoping for them to sweeten the deal..

very normal for umobile. activating LTE via SMS doesnt always work. for me, i had to contact CS to get it sorted out.

so, don't waste money on SMS

malaysia is grossly overpriced

i visited berjaya times sq last month and they said they don't have stock for nano...

according to official specs, nano is thinner.

if you look careful, the nano portion is slightly depressed.

for prepaid, data from umi works during grace period. does anyone know if mb plan works in grace period too? thanks!

yup, but some people are already getting the ussd menu. i tried *118*3*7# but got invalid menu.

umobile is the worst. you can still get nano for free from other telcos. umobile insists on you paying rm10.60.

well, for being the cheapest telco, they need to make up for their lost revenue by other means

dont think so. there have been reports that this doesnt work.
