Seems like UMobile's network is still not so stable. Had mix reviews from many users. Some positive, some negative but most were that the network is still not very stable and coverage is still not as good. Dropped calls are a common problem. Still considering whether to switch over.

QUOTE(MakNok @ Jul 20 2016, 01:00 PM) apart from that.. customer service very bad... try calling and wait...long long time. Yeah, I bought a prepaid and when I try to call 1318 CS, I couldnt get through during day time. Only got through in the middle of the night. I heard the queue at their Centres also are usually long and tedious.

QUOTE(MakNok @ Jul 20 2016, 01:15 PM) must complaint about their CS call. it have been ongoing for years. never see any improvement. queue usually long but can try at Berjaya Time Square, just be there as early as possible. Typical "Berjaya Group" style of business. Understaffed and overworked. Dont take it out on the CS. Not all their fault.

QUOTE(zher4883 @ Jul 25 2016, 02:11 PM) Is it me or everyone? U Mobile's 3G are extremely slow across most area in Klang Valley and almost unusable unless connected to LTE. If this persist, I would consider porting out. If fast internet is what you are looking for in UMobile, then you are looking at the wrong place. When you go for you mobile, you are looking at cheap and value for money.

QUOTE(zher4883 @ Jul 25 2016, 05:45 PM) Their service is significantly worse if comparing these few months with earlier this year More subscribers jumping ship over to them. As expected. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: Jul 25 2016, 05:52 PM

QUOTE(zher4883 @ Jul 25 2016, 06:45 PM) I happens to live in area where Digi, Celcom and U Mobile are all congested. Don't want to use Hotlink either , so probably Digi had less congestion Buy a cheap prèpaid card and test before porting overl

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jul 26 2016, 04:28 PM) this. unless u are directly working inside handling the networks. Just trolling. On the other hand, UMobile better be upgrading their network and infrastructures and if not, they stand losing out more customers.

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jul 26 2016, 04:36 PM) coverage-wise, they are quite slow due to budget constraint. (insider info), they can only install bout 700+ sites per year. this is projected figure. their main strategy focus on somewhere else, customer experience & satisfaction, trying to create public perception that Umobile network is the cheapest. well they really do, but this cost them some catch up in terms of radio network infrastructures. They are mainly relying on Maxis infrastructures and local networking roaming with other network providers. I dont think they are building much infrastructures themselves and hence the poor quality of their network. But then again, when you pay peanuts, you only will get monkeys.

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jul 26 2016, 05:57 PM) of coz that's obvious. for a newcomer, if they invest too heavily on infras, pay huge money to vendors for equipment & services, u wont get the cheap mobile packages like now. there are advantages of being pioneer like the big 3, where during their time the telco industry was not so robust compare to today. so new telco need to be smart and offer something different. there's always a trade-off between the two. but they are expanding despite the slow progress. if u can bear with it, ok. if not, just port out. we got many choices now. Im not on U Mobile yet. Just contemplating to port over. But looking at the responses and complains here...

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jul 26 2016, 06:25 PM) I only know if it's its own infrastructure, the speed is good even on 3G. But if it is piggybacking on other telco's infrastructure then it is a bit hard to control on Umobile side. It's more on the partnered telco's quality control issue. Well the partnered Telco's quality is very good. Don't understand why U Mobile would have issues the. I don't think there is anything to do with the partnered Telco's quality control issue.

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jul 27 2016, 11:03 PM) i have bad experience using cut sim.. became unusable. if time allows, recommend u to do it a proper & safe way by changing it to nano sim. Not to mention when the cut sim is stucked in between the sim tray and your phone.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jul 28 2016, 12:33 PM) use a proper nano sim cutter cost less than RM10 at ebay won't make ur sim card become uneven surface and stuck in the phone... unless u r using normal scissor/knife with the template download online Im a perfectionist. I still dont like a cut sim card. Do take note that the chip on the Nano sim is smaller than the micro sim. So if you cut a micro sim card using a nano sim cutter, the edges the chip will be visible.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jul 29 2016, 06:22 AM) if you cut old sim to nano sim before, you should know the base chip is same for mini, micro and nano, only that the surface is different, that's why cutting off some of the edge of micro into nano won't affect the performance Some people used their cut sim card without issues while some did. Still I think it would be safer to use the original one.

QUOTE(1234kingbling @ Aug 1 2016, 11:17 PM) They are. I have been on this plan since the very first day. Still downgraded Thats not very fair. QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Aug 2 2016, 12:55 AM) They are like DiGi last time. Coverage not so good. So need to attract people with promos. You will not see them be so generous once their coverage is the same as the Big Three +1 Digi is positioning itself amongst the mid premium status below Maxis with their current pricing. I have to give them credits though on their improved network.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 3 2016, 06:58 PM) i just ported out of maxis to umobile. i just went from damansara to shah alam then puchong and back damansara...so far the 4G is very spotty all along the ldp....mostly get H/H+ signal. but at my place in damansara perdana, 4G is fine and speed test shows its 2-3 times faster than maxis... so that's all that matters That is why I still dont dare to port over to U Mobile. Many users complained that their network coverage is poor and unstable. Are the 2G calls ok? QUOTE(Patent @ Aug 4 2016, 09:53 PM) If I mnp to umobile can I ask for sim replacement? Because my current sim is old sim that can do 3g only. U mobile will and have to give you a new sim card. If not how to switch over to their network?
