i wouldnt say its poor.
on h+ also internet more than ok...unless u want to stream hd then diff story.
i dont see any reason why 2G calls wont be ok as everyone already knows that relies on the maxis network.
*
Some of my friends (Ex Users of U Mobile) keep telling me of dropped calls and people calling them are unable to get through to their U Mobile numbers

yea no surprises umobile for outskirts is not so recommended, can tell already from their provided coverage map.
im in PJ area so doesnt bother me.

anyway i remember reading this back then - http://www.malaysianwireless.com/2014/05/m...highest-amount/
never had any issues either on maxis...i only change after like 16yrs cos their plans not worth it anymore and they heck care about customers much unless probably ur on their one plan.
*
laugh.gif Thats true.

7But this morning when I called 123 to enquire of my balance in contract, they were quick to immediately offer me the latest Note 7 eventhough my contract has yet to expire. I think they have woken up and buckle up on their customer service right now.
But stil their plans are still the most expensive amongst all. doh.gif

maybe theres a new wave of ppl porting out again, cos all the 1yr contracts they offered to ppl porting out last yr are expiring already...which of cos created all the maxis fiasco and bad coverups.
anyway when i called 123 in june to ask about my contract...they didnt say much...probably no note7 yet tongue.gif

By the way, if you are an Iphone user, U Mobile gives the best package deal for Iphones. The last round for the 6S, they even gave a free iphone 5c for the early adopters. Damn I missed the deal. doh.gif

i reload 100k validity is 60 days but the 89k 19GB package can be used only 30 days, but i only use it for 3 days, still got 14.4GB left before i come back to Malaysia later on~
there are cheaper packages but who cares cos i claim from company~
http://www.xl.co.id/id/yang-baru/promosi/combo-xtra
you can get 12GB package with only 59k (RM18.60)
*
Now that is really cheap. sweat.gif

i just noticed something else on umobile...i havent been getting spam sms for the more than 3 weeks already since i switched from maxis.
on maxis every few days get spam sms from gambling sites etc for months on end.
fingers crossed that no more will appear tongue.gif

so its either umobile at the hq side got some spam filter, or the spam sms are all internal from maxis tongue.gif
*
I would think spamming is by the number itself, would it be because of network? I get spam a lot if I advertise using my own number especially on online advertisements.

is after 6 months usage, call them and free for activation

or subscribe auto debit / present previous 2 months bills with auto roaming charge to entitled internation Roaming activation for free

otherwise RM 300 deposit is needed
need to be same owner, so either u change ownership @ celcom first, or change owner @ umobile after porting into umobile
*
Means if previous Telco got international roaming, we can get it enabled for free without questions asked right?

One more question, usually how long for you to process mnp over to UMobile from Maxis?

not necessary step 2

can straight into member line if already changed name @ celcom
around 1 day normally

if previous telco got international roaming, just present previous 2 bills ( either 1 showing roaming usage then ok d) not every dealer can do, mostly center and premier dealer can do ( I can too  tongue.gif )
*
All right. My contract ends next month. Will Pm u then to mnp 1 of my line over before the new iphone launch. As long as can continue my international roaming from previous Maxis. Actually what attracted me over is the Rm10/ day roaming for U Mobile. rclxms.gif Maxis is charging me Rm38/ day. doh.gif

Bloody hell Kuchai Lama NSK Umobile dealer that holding the umobile signboard.

I went in and thought want to purchase umobile power prepaid and I told the sales girl that I need that number , she said that I must purchase the new sim card together with RM 10 reload or RM 30 reload.

I told her I just need a sim card since I got umobile reload with me , she said no then I just walk off. Wrong sales tactic by this dealer. Nonsense .... We as consumer can just purchase a sim alone , you don't sell I go to other shop ..

Btw, I saw a great number.. 0182500 360 shocking.gif or my eyes blind me.. lol..
*
Its like this la bro. Nice Numbers or VVIP numbers are given to dealers by their respective telcos as part of the renumeration package. So dealers can make a bit more. Btw, the number you stated is no special number.

Bit the bullet and switched back to maxis. But its on prepaid instead.

The tradeoff is less 1gb and no free call sms time. And plus RM 2. lol.

Sorry UM, you were ok, but your connection really sucks so no thanks. You can give me 100gb of free data also no use (same as every other telco).

I have been ranting on this thread. But don't worry, this is the last you will see.

same case like me, mnp back to  hotlink Fast from umobile,.. network is so bad...

when u top up online to hotlink fast, you will get 1GB 3 days for free, on top of that if u spend rm30 for 2GB plan, u will get extra 2GB youtube free along with 8GB for whole month weekend and plus 30 hotlink point for redeem 250MB 3 days via hotlink app, can accumulate to lucky draw,..

total RM30 = 13.25GB  thumbsup.gif

hotlink Fast not bad at all, coverages, speed, consistency all high score,..
*
Maybe you cant opt for U Mobile after they have improved their network and coverage. But usually, when they do, they will increase their prices too. Just like DIGI which used to be the cheapest but they are no more now.

i managed to get data roaming in Singapore and its so easy.
it just seamlessly excahnge to StarHub after they charge RM 10 to my prepaid account.
And I get Unlimited for a day.

save my life since I was in an emergency condition at the boarder and no way i can get hold of a Singapore telco sim card yet.
*
If you are at the borders of both Malaysia and Singapore, you could still get local network coverage.

That's good enough already.  I tried in Sydney and Taipei before this. No 4G and speed about 5Mbps. Sometimes much less.  But usable.  Cant complain though.  They're the only one giving this service for free in Malaysia
*
Best of all its free for P70 and above users. rclxms.gif

One question, when you were roaming with umobile, could you tether your data and share with others? I've asked this question before and nobody seems to know.

I tethered my tablet in Taipei and it worked. They did not mention anything about tethering restriction though so should be no problem for other places too

Now is pray hard that, they will extend the data backpack thingy.

My speedtest roam under starhub. Hitting above 30mbps

Nice. thumbup.gif

Well, its these kind of services provided which makes customers flock to UMobile. They should know better. If Umobile is without such features, there would not be any reasons to be staying with them.

it depend if your line active

active - free 1gb first > umi quota > free 2gb

inactive - umi quota only

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Oct 14 2016, 01:24 PM)
the 1GB won't hide la, after you reload the first RM10 it will shows till the day u cut the line
but anyway i already stated my wife real case, for my advise is always use up your free data before purchasing a new UMI, cos at the end of the day, you still can use your UMI data even validity expired
*
Im asking on behalf of a friend, lets say you subscribe to UMI28 or UMI30, if you reload Rm30, is the credit deducted so that you get the 2.5GB High Speed internet and 30 mins free call or you still have the credit in your account? I can only see UMI30 in UMobile's website but no UMI28? Is it because there is no more UMI 28?

umi is an add-on subscription and not a plan in itself

if you buy umi, your credit will be deducted

and umi28 is phased out already

Bro. Want to ask if umob has the cheapest prepaid at 8,50 and top up 10 bucks for 3gig data and other free calls or is there any better plan elsewhere .i have low usage only for going on standby small size phone only.thanks
*
Top up RM10 is for 1GB Data only. Not 3GB. The 2GB is Basic data which is only 64/kbps and only usable for your whatsapp, wechat etc.
